I just received my Verge of War asgars. Happy, not perfect, but paid little so...
Here's my issue. They are a white, somewhat rubbery plastic (they are not brittle like resin, and cut like plastic). Regular plastic glue has not touched them. (I use Testors in the red bottle with toluene). Super glue (gel or otherwise) works poorly.

Can someone who knows more of the chemical side recommend a glue for these? I know it is a weak description, but if you have anything.

super glue works on most everything, unless your glue is bad(opened and used on and off for 6 months+); if the joints are thick enough, you can pin and then glue to make it work.

As Big Mac said super glue is great, make sure your models are degreased.
I also lightly score the surfaces to be joined, it makes for a bomb proof bond on most everything, I only tend to use pining to attach models to the base.

It sounds like they're made of a similar material to Reaper's Bones line of miniatures:

Ghaz has it correct. Same material. My super glue is old (new tube now) and trying the wash up thing. Thanks for the suggestions!

Reaper Bones works with superglue.

It's tempting to use old glue, but don't. Not that you should use a new tube every time, but... eh, use a new tube every time. It's cheap and you can find them in bulk.

Do avoid touching a nozzle directly to the model. Put a drop on aluminum foil and use a paperclip, toothpick, etc.

You can use aluminum between the cap and thread to help keep the seal.

fwiw, Plastic glue is supposed to dissolve the plastic then "melt" the plastic back together. Scary.

^^ No "supposed to" about it.

"Plastic glue" is a solvent bonding agent. IT is specifically designed to soften both sides of the join and chemically weld two pieces of the same plastic together (and there are specific ones for polystyrene, ABS, PVC - and there is even one for polypropylene (which will give your children cancer).

Again I thank you dakka! A wash, a new bottle of Gorilla glue gel super glue, and mission accomplished! six harpies from Verge of War kickstarter. Using them as counts as Warp Talons. I'll share when they're done.
