Anyone succesfully built these with the included bayonets and chainblades?

I'm thinking they are supposed to connect where the RTB01 bayonets and chainblades used to connect as well (just under the barrel), but the pieces dont align anywhere near flush. Am I just supposed to chip away at them until they fit together or what?

Any example pics of succesful builds would be appreciated!
