custom company. lords approval (or if you prefer, slum fighters) / wilderness survivors. "Woolsey's Kukris"
company commander (Lord Woolsey himself, a warlord who has given his trait to the manticore below) He wields base gear only cause lords don't get dirty like that. While most all the guys in this army are painted some sort of smear of brown to emphasize their survivalness, Lord Woolsey thought a nice yellow would let him stand out better in the troop reviews.)
company commander (Viscomte Smedley, an ill named childhood friend of Woolsey, and another lord from his cold feudal world) laspist/chainsword/ aquila relic
3 x 10 gaurd squad with 1 plasma pistol and 1 powersword per squad (the kukris! and the slicing!)
3 x 10 gaurd squad with 1 plasma, 1 powersword, and a heavy bolter per squad.
astropath (-1 to be hit)
astropath (+1 to save)
Master of ordinacne35
Engenseer35
command squad "forlorn hope" with 4 laspistols and 4 chainswords
command squad "also gonna die" with 4 laspistols and 4 chainswords These two ultracheap units skulk the board edges out of strategic resever, or perform actions in the backfield, to gain vp's while the enemy chews on the main body.

Derwin's Dandies. Only Woolsey would dare call them dandies, they wear a mottled urban/forest cameoflage pattern and will gut you for the joke otherwise. I favor the guys who can move around before game / redeploy for this army, its got a "scouts" feel to it.
Tempestor Prime Lord the right honorable Derwin (command rod, extra warlord trait = old grudges)
officer of the fleet Fauntleroy 25. Ok, HE is a dandy, his bright blue and white uniform always pristine, as he points "blow up THAR" and sips tea.
ministerium priest (with a chainsword and his usual gun)40 Note the blood dried on his chainsword. He would clean it but he doesn't care, as long as the heretics DIE.
5 crusaders (in their own way, dandies. I would draw them from 4 differnt colored squads of crusaders and the garish character crusader, to make them look feudal land pretension laden).
1 x 5 scions
1 x 5 scions
1 x 5 scoins
3 x vendetta with 6 lascans and 2 hb each
1120

Plan is to carry minipriest, crusaders, 1 commander, 2 astropaths, and 20 soldiers into the midfield on turn 1, drop them all, and join squads. That's 20 2+ save infantry and 5 3+/4++ save crusaders, with 7 powerswords that swing 21 times between them. As the game progresses, other regular infantry squads advance/movmovmov into position to join this growing blob.

Alternate take on this army is TWO flyer vendettas, and you add in 245 points of extra midboard grab
... 30 conscripts (they are, basically, a premade blobbo gaurd) 150
... inquisitor malleus with forcesword and combimelta, x2 psyker powers, -1 to be wounded relic
... 2 powerswords (for company commanders) and 1 powersword for tempestor prime.

That isn't my first instinct but it has some merit, the 30 conscripts are an instant blob of 4+ armor you can run up the board (hopefully using cover) and then buff with the astropaths if your first blob had trouble (read "death").
