So! I'm going to have access, next month, to a phrozen sonic mighty 4k printer and I've been trying to learn the basics regarding .stl files in chitubox.
When I double click a file, it opens fine but whenever i click the 'open' button in the program, it crashes.
Before I can even select a file.
The window opens, to tease me, and then dies a horrible death.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hm... that's not exactly normal, no. I'd start by uninstalling completely and doing a fresh start, and maybe upgrading video drivers, just in case, see how it goes.

I have found the iterations of Chitubox over the past year super quirky. The last super stable version was 1.5. Most versions after this crashed for me somewhere in the support phase - super frustrating. I kept 1.5 installed and would go back to that whenever a later version crashed on me.

However, finally, 1.7.0 seems pretty stable, but if you cannot 'open' any stl file from the Chitubox menu, I would agree w/ Albertorius to remove it and install again.

I've switched to Lychee and am pretty happy with it, so far, but I think I'll uninstall/reinstall Chitubox, anyway, since I'll be using a Phrozen printer and that's the native software for it.

I'm currently holding on chitu 1.6.1 as its the minimum version for one of my printers. I have a 1.3.x installer though incase I need to do anything more then slice and save to file as Chitu has really struggled to stay stable after it's surge in popularity.

I do everything else I need in Prusa slicer, 3d builder and occasionally meshmixer.

Open stl in netfabb. Export it to another STL. Click "fix" button on prompt dialog. And then use new STL.
