So when dry paints first came I bought some. They where in various degrees of usable. The white was not good. Necron compound was more like a powder. I took up my pink to use and I wonder if my paints perhaps where all wrong? How dry are they suppose to be? When I paint with my pink I mostly just rub it on the gunk as that is the only way to apply it to the paint brush. Is the dry paint suppose to be more like cream or wett marshmallow?

I only have a couple like Ryza rust and yes they are like thick cream, the application is almost the same as dry brushing with normal paint just a bit quicker to get to the dry brushing bit.

They seem to vary from a damp powder to a thick cream. They are meant for pure dry brushing, which means you get the brush good and covered, then wipe it nearly clean.

Everyone I've heard talk about the Citadel Dry paint line complains that they have zero shelf life, sometimes bad right from the store - especially the white. Fresh they can be as thick as frosting.

Here's my blue, it still has the same consistency from when I purchased it.
Its like gelatin and I sort of jab the brush into it.

Well, my hypothesis is that it is supposed to be much more creamy then that.

Dont get me wrong, it works flawlessly but if I were to put my finger into the pot it will squidge and change shape

Might want to mist that pot with water every once in a while. It doesn't take long for Drys to go from squidgy-clay to completely unusable rubber.
