We are in the process of figuring out what units we want to home brew or house rule into our 6th Edition Campaign on the horizon. We tested out patching what were essentially 7th Edition Forest Goblin Spider Riderz into the fold and we consider it a success. We have home brewed up a few Dwarf characters and have yet to test them but will be doing so in the next few months. Next, I have set my eyes on units like the High Elf Lion Chariot of Chrace. They, too, exist in 7th Edition but not 6th. For reference, here is the 100% Official and Legal Dark Elf Cold One Chariot as it stood in 2005. Dark Elf Cold One Chariot. (S5 T5, W4, Armour Save 4+, Scythed Wheels, Chariot). Pulled by 2 Cold Ones (M7, WS3, S4, I3, A1 Cause Fear, Stupidity). The Crew seem to be normal Dark Elves who Hate High Elves and are equipped with Hand Weapons. They can upgrade to Crossbows for +10 Pts and/or Spears for +2 Pts. The model costs 95 Points and occupies a Special Slot. 1-2 Dark Elf Cold One Chariots can occupy a single Special Slot. This is what I have so far (once again it is pretty much porting the 7th Edition choice into 6th Edition) Lion Chariot of Chrace. Uses the same statline as the Dark Elf Cold One Chariot (S5 T5 W4, Armour Save 4+, Chariot), with the following changes: It does not start with Scythed Wheels (They may be purchased for +10 Pts). It is pulled by 2 War Lions (M8, WS5, S5, I4, A2 Cause Fear). It is crewed by 2 White Lions (Stoic) armed with hand weapons and Great Axes. The model costs 140 Points and occupies a Special Slot. I think I'm going to see a lot of support on that one. I think most guys who approved of the Spiderz will approve of that. Now let me see how insane I can make it until I've lost the room... This one's NOT from 7th Edition and I think there's an argument or two to be made against it that will be tough to overcome... Lizardmen Cold One Chariot. Uses the same statline as the Dark Elf Cold One Chariot (S5 T5 W4, Armour Save 4+, Chariot, Cause Fear, Stupidity), with the following changes: It does not have Scythed Wheels. It is crewed by 2 Saurus Warriors armed with hand weapons. They may upgrade to spears for +5 Pts. They are Cold Blooded as normal. The model costs 115 Points and occupies a Rare Slot. If you havent clicked away in disgust by now let me see if I can double down on putting chariots where they dont belong... Wood Elf Reindeer Chariot. Uses the same statline as the High Elf Tiranoc Chariot (S5 T4 W4, Armour Save 5+, Chariot) with the following changes: It is pulled by 2 Reindeer (M9, WS3, S3, I4, A1 Antler Charge counts as Tusker Charge.) This model is a Chariot and follows all their normal rules on Pg 127 of the Main Rulebook. As such, it does not benefit from Forest Walkers. It is crewed by 2 Glade Riders armed with hand weapons and longbows (They do benefit from Asrai Archery). The model costs 120 Points and occupies a Rare Slot. Now we can dip our toe into porting from the 8th Edition with some more insanity... High Elf Lothern Skycutter. Uses the same statline as the Dark Elf Cold One Chariot (S5 T5 W4, Armour Save 4+, Chariot) with the following changes: It is pulled by 1 Swiftfeather Roc (M2, WS5, S4, I4, A2 Fly.) This model is a flying Chariot crewed by 3 High Elf Sea Guard (Stoic). They are armed with spears and bows. They may exchange one crew for an Eagle Eye Bolt Thrower (Range: 24", S5, causes D3 Wounds, no Armour Saves allowed) for 50 Points. One of the Sea Guard crew may choose to fire this once per shooting phase (instead of firing his bow) even if the Skycutter has moved (with the normal -1 penalty for moving & shooting). The model costs 165 Points and occupies a Rare Slot.
