Got a hankering to do some DIY Space Fleet, the predecessor to Battlefleet Gothic -I've got the rules, some ideas to bodge the ships, I'm just looking to make some tiles. What size are the originals? They look to have squares 1" - 30mm wide, anyone got access to the originals to confirm the measurements for me?

The original octagonal Space Fleet bases are 2" across, and so are the squares on the tiles.

However, since it's on squares, it doesn't matter. Each square can only hold one ship (apart from Cobra Destroyers, and possibly some of the smaller Tyranid ships; they can be 3 to a square), so just decide on a base size and and make the squares big enough to fit that.
