Hello, in a game this weekend between Harlies and Astra Militarum, we got a question about the interaction between Veil of illusion (shadowseer's pivotal role) and Disciplined shooter (astra militarum faction trait).
Disciplined shooter say the rapid fire rule apply when you are at 18" of the target, and Veil of illusion say that are more distance ( 6" ) .

So does the astra militarum player got is rapid fire if it was at 13" ?

sry for the bad english.

Spoiler:
VEIL OF ILLUSION
While a friendly <MASQUE> unit is within 6" of this model, when determining if that unit is within range of attacks made by enemy models with ranged weapons, add 6" to the distance measured. For example, if this unit is 22" away from an enemy model, for the purposes of shooting, it is treated as being 28" away. Note that for the purposes of determining if a model is at half range, it is the distance after applying the effects of this ability.

Spoiler:
When an INFANTRY model with this doctrine shoots with a Rapid Fire weapon against a unit that is within 18", double the number of attacks that weapon makes, rather than following the normal rules for Rapid Fire weapons.

No double shots, because 13” + 6” = 19” so it would be outside 18” rapid fire range.

Due to the Veil of Illusion, a unit that is 13" away is treated as if it is 19" away. Therefore, since it is not within 18" as far as the rules are concerned, you can't utilise the double shots of a Rapid Fire weapon, as it doesn't qualify to be able to do so (normally half range, within 18" due to Disciplined Shooter).
