I really like the look of the Coven units from the Drukhari codex, so I wanted to create a small Combat Patrol list using them. With the new points values from the MFM I can just about squeeze everything in at the cost of bringing a lot of war gear, as a result I have almost no shooting, so I'm unsure which Talos ranged weapon will be best (considering the 500 point limit, I'm not sure if I want to bring anti tank or anti horde). I am also unsure what the new codex has in store for Haemonculus war gear, according to the MFM everything is free for them, in that case I would probably take a Electro Corrosive Whip + Stinger Pistol or Hex Rifle, but I will wait on that until the codex hits. Opinions are very welcome!

Only Covens, and more if you are playing at 500, is going to be hard to work with. You are not very mobile and you have almost no shooting.

Talos are great distraction Carnifexes, but two of them plus 3 Grotesques maybe is too much melee beating at 500. Maybe cutting the 3 Grots in exchange of a Venom and 5 more Wracks mounted on it.

Also not sure if Haywire is useful at 500, not many vehicles there. I would run Lances as a good MEQ killer.

Smth like this, not sure if 500 exactly.

- Haemonculous (Hexrifle)

- 10 Wracks
- 5 Wracks

- Talos (Lances)
- Talos (Lances)

- Venom

Wracks at 10 would be better for Black Cornucopians, and the 5strong unit could go into the Venom and sent to a faraway objective.

I figured in 500 point games with the smaller table sizes the talos' and grotesques wouldn't have that hard of a time to get in charge range.

I figured the wracks were really just there to hold objectives or tarpit a big shooty unit (teleport them around with Black Cornucopians more so than to heal their wounds).

Not sure I understand what you're planning with the venom? I really hadn't considered lances, in my mind it was either the haywire blasters or the splinter cannons. I feel like only 4 18" shots as the real shooting on my army is too little.

In my experience, Venoms at low point games are pretty hard to remove and let you apply pressure in another side of the board. Also 10 more poison shots.

I prefer Lances to Haywire in a vacuum because, in my experience, in a pickup game at 500 you are more likely to play vs Primaris Marines than vs vehicles. That's different in 1k-2k games, where vehicles are more common.

Wracks in general are awesome to get objectives, and at 8 pts are borderline broken right now. The more the merrier!

IMO, it's pretty hard to make a TAC list with Covens, as they are very light in shooting and pretthy slow, as they pay for thoughness.
