With the changes to while we stand we fight I've had to make significant changes to my list and I've had a cheeky thought, namely making a unit of swooping hawks one of my wwswf units. Not only can they deepstrike naturally so can be an almost auto scramblers option late on they can also fly off the board if necessary to only come back turn 5 to help score wwswf.
With the speed of my army I should be able to score well on engage too so all three secondaries are in my hands if my opponent isn't giving up anything good.
Avenging strike avengers can do real work especially with ignoring cover and auto -1 ap within 12".
I've also tried to get plenty of variety in my firepower with a decent amount of shuriken and some efficient heavier firepower too.
Any thoughts?

I like it, not much to add as you seem to have a plan for it which is all important these days.

Yep, for me if you don't have your secondaries planned out in the list building stage you're starting the game with one hand tied behind your back.

For WWSWF , the Hawks, Autarch, and Farseer would be the three units, correct? The Autarch is the one model that seems a bit out of place for this secondary. If you created 1 x 2 War Walkers, then that unit would bump out the Autarch. War Walkers can start off the table at no CP cost and provide you the opportunity to apply pressure and/or stay away to earn the points. Try for 15 points rather than just 5 for this secondary.

As to the list, I lime the flexibility quite a bit. There is not obvious targets. I would be interested in hearing how it fares.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

I'm certainly aiming for 15 wwswf points! I was specifying the hawks, though I can see where the confusion stems from. Hopefully the autarch and farseer can stay out of trouble with the look out sir rule. My plan for the autarch is to buff the vypers, wraiths and avengers more than getting stuck in personally though he is probably the most vulnerable.
I'm hoping to squeeze in a TTS game at some point this weekend so I can take the list for a spin.

That is very true. You've made me think more on the ones I should take rather than the ones I'm giving up.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes the game gives you good choices but I think it's good to have options built in.

I don’t think hail of doom is going to benefit you more than expert crafters. Make them all the crafters/masterful shots so the autarch can benefit your long range shooting if you don’t wanna get close. If you have trouble keeping those avengers alive in your first game I would make room for a wave serpent or falcon to let the avengers sit and wait til late game

Craftworlds Eldar: 8500
Dark Eldar: 1000
Harlequins: 1000
Raven Guard: 1500
Tyranids: 1500

Hi, I can see where you're coming from but the two detachments are designed for two different roles. The battalion has weight of shuriken fire which makes expert crafters less valuable than ignore cover/bonus AP. The opposite is true for the spearhead which has low number of shots which makes crafters amazing.
I've completed one test game against myself (finding three or four hour chunks of uninterrupted time in the house is tricky with children) using a nasty (I thought) salamanders list with nine eradicators, nine attack bikes and twelve aggressors using a librarian for the 5++ and re roll advance/charges plus rites of war. The Eldar went first and took out some attack bikes, then the marines managed to get their crucial powers off but whiffed badly averaging 2's on their advance rolls and their melta shooting taking down one wraith lord and injuring the other two only. By this point they were badly exposed and too far away. Eldar turn two was pretty brutal, even transhuman and the 5++ wasn't enough to prevent big losses plus the eldar psykers were rolling hot. Marine turn two was better but the vibro cannons not allowing advances is very useful on things like agressors but after the eldar turn three it wasn't worth carrying on, the marines only had intercessors, one eradicator serjeant, one aggressor serjeant, a squad of bikes and the characters left. The eldar had lost the wraithlords, a squad of avengers and a hornet in return.
I'm going to do a rematch because the marines definitely got shafted by the dice gods in this one but the eldar list looks promising for sure.

How do you think you'll do vs. a vehicle heavy list or Big Bird/Magnus?

I have no idea! I used salamanders because I play them and so have all the books etc. I could try dark eldar venom spam/coven heavy hitters since I have that book too. Big single targets are usually nice for craftworlds because of doom and jinx though getting that off against Tzeentch forces is a lot trickier than against knights.

Well, I did the rematch against the salamander list which wasn't such a blowout but craftworlds won by 20 pts.
Also ran six flayed skull kabalite squads with a blaster in three raiders, two squads of incubi, drazhar, an archon, 2 lahmean and a slyth in three venoms plus urien plus six Talos with haywire.
The drukhari went first and looked decent for the first couple of turns but ended up tabled by the end of turn four and lost by 28 points.
Now I just need to get enough time to play a real game.

How do you feel...

Swooping hawks vs. a 3rd detachment that is Alatioc with the warlock and 8 or 9 rangers (use strategem can only be hit on 6's)

I do think that's an excellent trick but sadly not worth another detachment.
