I played some wolves yesterday. I had 10 space wolf Terminators.

6 with combo plasma and stormshield
2 with cyclone missile launchers and chainfist
1 with double lightning claws
1 leader with stormshields and thunderhammer

Bjørn was babysitting. So I had re-rolling 1's in case needed to overcharge.

They did really good work. The shooting potensial was really good. It demands an awnser from the enemy. They did survive being attacked by a bone breaker in melee, but lacked the damage to quite finish it off in melee.

I stacked modefiers. Fury of the first to get +1 to hit, with keen senses really mess things up. Ignore negative modefiers, hit on 2+, re-roll 1's. Could probably have made it worse by using wisdom of the ancients to re-roll wound rolls of one as well.

It needs some planing though. They work well as an achord for sweeping mid board. Having other units to work as chaff for them helped out. Having more (and longer) range support would also help forcing the enemy to be coming to you.

Yeah it looks good facing most things.

However, good luck fighting Mortarion or 7 man Blightlord / Deathshroud Terminators.

Yeah it probably has some weaknesses. I was afraid of my opponents gorka/morkanaught. I think those sweeping attacks could have wrecked me. But the number of units who do good VS them is very low.

I think most thinks will have a problem VS death guards - 1 damage and a good save. Terminators mostly. I have not run the numbers on just pinging them with bolters and frag grenades. Or power's words. Something has to be the sweet spot for killing them. Or just out maneuver them. They are fairly slow.

But if you like Terminators SW is a solid option. Although DG might be too. Dark angels permanent Trans human is also quite solid. But mixing weapon load outs and use keen senses is just gravy. :-)
