Hi all,

Looking for feedback and advice on my competitive Silent King list. I'm currently at 4-1 with this, the one loss being against a triple Land Raider World Eaters list. At the moment, I'm keen to refine it for a more competitive environment, so would value any C+C. Protocols/secondaries below:

Ghost Ark [8 PL, 145pts]

++ Supreme Command Detachment +3CP (Necrons) [23 PL, 6CP, 450pts] ++

+ Configuration +

Detachment Command Cost [3CP]

Dynasty Choice: Dynasty: Szarekhan

+ Primarch | Daemon Primarch | Supreme Commander +

The Silent King [23 PL, 3CP, 450pts]
. 2x Triarchal Menhir: 2x Annihilator Beam

++ Total: [98 PL, 14CP, 2,000pts] ++

Protocols will be:
  • Silent Storm
    Hungry Void
    Hungry Void
    Undying Legions
    Eternal Guardian

  • Conquering Tyrant is kept "in reserve" for a clutch fall back+shoot.

    Secondaries are Deploy Scramblers, Code of Combat, with the 3rd being opponent-dependent. One squad of Cryptothralls goes into SR for a late-game Scramblers, so the game starts with 13CP.

    Strategy is quite simple; Silent King forms a castle with the 2 warrior blobs, technomancer and Ghost Ark. Scarabs and Chronos screen and make an early grab for objectives, and the Tomb Blades make a great harassment unit. The idea is to score high on primaries, and with TSK buffs, each individual warrior becomes very dangerous.
    How can I improve this list? How can I adapt the playstyle?

    This is very similar to the Vegas Nopen list in the recent Goonhammer article. That has Shieldguard in place of your Tomb blades, and the third Warrior squad is a full 20 with no Ghost Ark.

    Looks good man, you could consider dropping the technomancer for a royal warden. You've got enough CP to be resing D6 warriors a turn with the ghost ark after all.

    Fall back and shoot is extremely powerful with the warrior blobs, especially if you give the warden the veil alongside the re-roll charges WL trait. It might help free up the chronomancers if you want the 5++ elsewhere while needing the warriors to make a charge. Against one of the landraiders for example you could tag it, fall back, pop disintegration capacitators, then tag it again which might have helped.

    I think your army can score Purge the Vermin very well too, especially with the tomb blades being as reactive as they are.

    If you did decide to run the warden you could also drop the 10 man warrior squad for 5 immortals and 5 flayed ones which might give you some more tactical flexibility at the cost of some synergy with the ghost ark
