Just an unboxing video but I threw in Kill Team discussions in there that I hope you guys will find interesting. (It has timestamps so you can skip to the parts that interest you.)

It has been a while since I've last seen a thread about Space Marine scouts in the various Kill Team forums I'm in. Do you use them? How do you kit them?

I think a leader with a camoleoline cloak can't be hidelocked (you heard it first from me folks!) owing to his -2 to hit if obscured; guy can still participate in the action rather than just being locked in LOS-blocking terrain.
Also I think these are worth considering or even be auto-includes:

Heavy bolter scout
Missile launcher scout

All the rest (shotgun- and boltgun-equipped scouts) can be used to fill in the gaps if your list has spare points that can't buy a full-fledged Astartes.

Lemme know your thoughts. Would be fun discussing these underrated Kill Team units. ^_^

Bang for buck I'd say.

Grab one of both kits and you have a well equiped team roster for any occassion. I personally use them with reavers.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Thanks SamusDrake! I already have the sniper box (as seen in my video above). Very useful I think; a leader that won't be hidelocked and a missile launcher scout will prove to be very useful I think. I also bought a heavy bolter scout from eBay so that bit's taken care of already. ^_^

About the regular scouts with boltguns and shotguns---I'm not too confident about them but I did buy several scout arms with boltguns. I'll magnetize them and see how such a loadout will work in Kill Team. (Probably versus GEQs only.)

Its worth mentioning that scouts are used in Lost Patrol, and while that game is now out of print you could do a cardboard print of the tiles if you access to such a facility. Throw in a pack of hormagaunts and you are good to go.

[Late reply. Apologies. Got busy with work and this pandemic isn't making things easy. :( ]

Lost Patrol? Is that a board game?

Been considering Infinity lately and that W40K RPG. But I heard the latter lost their license? :(

Lost Patrol is alright as a small game to throw in between others but it needs hefty house ruling. The first edition was well designed but 2nd was awful - just an excuse to shift Genestealer sprues.

Apparently Infinity has considerably different rules but is well regarded. No idea about the 40K Rpg though.

Are you keeping well at this time?

Ah. So Lost Patrol is a pretty old game. I'll have to dig around and learn about it more. Thanks for the heads-up SamusDrake!

Yeah, everything's still fine and dandy at this point. Good but not perfect. Thanks for asking man! Keep safe too! ^_^
