Hi. I've returned to 40k after a long hiatus and have been painting up stuff I like, not necessarily stuff that's good. I see that Deathskulls should be leveraging MSU and ObSec spam but I've gone another route since I hate painting infantry.

So far I've been building this list with an eye to having my Big Mek, Meganobz and Deffdreads forming a central firebase with the rest of the army engaging on hopefully favourable terms thanks to their speed. Is this just dumb?

An unusual list. I think the meganobz and boyz mobs are too small to do much. You gave the warlord Follow Me ladz, but there is nobody to benefit from it. Still, I like lots of warbikes, but nobody seems to be using them now. Give it a go.

Maniacal seizures is a big risk without lots of infantries to give the weirdboy a bonus for casting it. It's an amazing power but without the +3 or at least a +2 is simply too unreliable. Also warpath doesn't look very helpful in this list.

Reduce the warbikers to 10. At 11-12 they'd get max shots against blast weapons, the 1-2 extra bodies are actually making the unit weaker.

I'd try to fit an additional buggy or a couple of meganobz instead of the psyker. Alternatively a couple of lone deffkoptas, mek gunz or Kaptin Badrukk.

Thanks for the replies, you've given me food for thought.

Regarding the Weirdboy, I mostly included him to have some protection against psykers, but that doesn't seem to factor in Blackie?

The psyker protection is dependent on your local meta. If you face Guard and Space wolves, you don't need the protection. Eldar and Chaos will be casting constantly. I had the misfortune to be on the receiving end of one of those, it was not fun with no way to deny.
My point on the units being too small (to elaborate) is if 3 Meganobz take a single casualty to shooting - and they will - there are not enough attacks with just 2 to do much damage. Better to have 5, so if 1 dies before melee, the remainder can still do alot a damage. A mob of 10 boyz will just be shot off the table in 1 turn.
