Hi everyone!
Got just back to WH40k after had almost 18 years break. Started again in May 2020 and luckily got my hands to Dark Imperium starter. During COVID-time I got extra spare time to get back. Now I collect Death Guard and Blood Angels. I have played some games with my son and one of the reasons to get back was to have some Father-son hobby too. He's not that interested in painting yet. I like painting as gaming side of hobby. For gaming I mostly like the fluff and consider myself fun-player. When buying models I look quite much how they fit to the story and how good they look.
About the fluff. Before buying first models I was quite messed what's this Primaris thing is. Felt that as fluff-wise they are unfitting and still think so. However they are better scaled, so much better looking and decided to collect just them. Also think that firstborn will fade away some day. It annoys me still that there's some really stupidly named units/weapons and also there is tons of different weapon versions. Also those hover tanks are okay, but would prefer traditional firstborn Marine vehicles style more. Why they just couldn't upgrade marine sculpts instead? For the fluff it's so forced thing and we now have tons of datasheets. Of course it's because of business, but still...
As a Blood Angels player it's also frustrating that most of "our" units have just firstborn sized versions. I'm so strict esthetically that don't want to mix firstborns and Primaris into same army. May sound ridiculous, but that's just me...
