I hope this is the right place to ask

I took a break from the hobby around 8th edition and completely missed Psychic Awakening, I'm not even 100% sure what it is, from what I've gathered it's full of really useful stratagems and psychic powers

I doubt I'll be playing a game because of the pandemic and I'm guessing the 9th codex for Astra Militarum will be out before social distancing is over in the UK

Are all the rules within Psychic Awakening rolled into the new codex's or will still need to get the Psychic Awakening book for the new stratagems?

So far, the9th codexes that have been released have invalidated the Psychic awakening rules for those factions, so the answer is

If you play a race with a currently available 9th codex, then no, you do not need PA.
If you play a race (like my Tyranids) that is still using an 8th ed codex, then the psychic awakening rules are still legal and you may want to invest.

I dont know what faction/s you play but it looks like Drukhari are the next codex (so if you play them, id just wait til next month and not bother with PA.

Hey that's for the info. That makes sense now.

I'm currently playing Astra Militarum and it doesn't look like there's a release date on that yet but with the pandemic I doubt I'll be playing any games this year so I don't think there's any need to invest in it

Yeah, if you are not actively playing, then your best bet is just to get some painting done and wait.
