Just spotted that the Catachan Defence Force has jumped to £150 on the GW website.

Cadian Defence Force still showing at the old price of £110.

These have always been the same price before and contents don't seem to have changed so not sure why the price raise.

It's either a gross error or part of a price adjustment (rise) on several kits that has yet to come into force on the other kits.

The Defense Force boxes have been webstore exclusive for at least three or four years now. Going to hazard a guess that they finally sold through the stock they had on hand and this is something they're packaging themselves.

Hmmm... up from 140€ to 191,50€ thats a BIG price increase.

Yeah, I noticed them on the US site yesterday. $185 vs $252.
I assume an error of some sort, since its the same kits. (though technically cadian squads and command squad are $1 more than catachan ones).

Though technically the Catachan one is priced for every kit in the box, while the Cadian defense force is saving the cost on almost the HWT and a Squad.

Kan's right as well, they both are (and have been) exclusive.

The Cadian one is being billed as a "value boxed set" and is likely still the actual, physical bundle box that has been available for some time.

The Catachan one is likely seeing a price leap as it no longer is the actual, physical bundle box but instead is them actually pulling the items/sprues and putting it all into a mail-order box.

I'm not assuming it's an error. I'm assuming that this is meant to be viewed as a 'one-click bundle' instead.

The contents of the Catachan set is equal to the individual units purchased separately.

If you were to buy the Cadians, it would cost $3 more to buy the individual units but their boxed set is still sitting at $185. Get it while you can, I guess.

I wonder what other boxed sets are going to see their discounts removed?

That's the price you pay for high quality, cutting edge models like Catachans.

To be fair they are saving you all the effort of all those clicks, helping it be just one click. I know I hate clicking, I'd gladly forgo any discount at all just to make one click as opposed to many. Thank you GW for looking after my fingers, no one else does.

Unfortunately, the plastic does not matter as much as the SKU does.

The Catachan Defence Force was an actual SKU with a boxed set that was available for at least 6 years at this point. It's been rotting on independent store shelves near me for awhile. I'm guessing that the boxes finally sold through but they're retaining it as a 'one-click bundle' for reasons unknown.

The Cadian Defence Force is still being billed as a "value boxed set" which is GW speak for "This item is still the old Christmas box".

I'd imagine the S4 increase for Catachans, and the new plastic characters reinvigorated interest in the army. Obviously there are better options out there (Goliaths if you want to use GW figs) but can see people buying it. I got some last year for my Penal Legion and they are... serviceable.

there are always those who don't know about other companies or do not care to compare prices

also from the possibilities of the models/parts themselves, the Catachan is one of the better ones from GW
