I am after a recommendation for some Battle Sisters, Sister Sororitas type figures.
I like the Wargames ones but just wondered if firstly anyone had painted any of the non Games Workshop ones and any suggestions for the non GW options.
I plan to get some and paint them as a Birthday present for my sister who used to love the figures so cost is not really important but quality and detail of the figures is paramount.

I let this go a for a few days because I didn't want to lead with exactly what you didn't want, which was GW sisters. Having waited 25 years for plastics, I'll just say that they're really nice models, both fun and satisfying to assemble and paint, with lots of character and versatility in the kits. Sorry I cant guide you to a 3rd party line, but I'm really enjoying my GW Soroitas.

The GW ones are very good but there are others (I have hundreds of both)

I have a bunch of the Raging Heroes not-Sisters. They clearly vary in aesthetic from the GW line in deliberate ways, so that's a matter of taste. They're nice models, but very fragile and fiddly to assemble. The extremely slender bits and ballet-dancer poses exacerbate things. And they have all the normal concerns of resin models--breakage in transit, cleaning release agent, and unbending warped bits. The GW sisters are much, much easier to build and handle.

Anvil Industry did a whole kickstarter for their not-Sisters models, and they're currently available on their website:

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

Thanks for all those suggestions and the warnings re ease of handling, I have not used resin models before so probably need to do some research first. I have just revisited the GW site and the starter set with all the options for assembly is a pretty good set.
