Has anyone made a creations of bile army, from scratch? If so what did you do for colour schemes. I’m trying to do mine to look like bile had recruited/hired/hood winked units from various warbands into his army but am struggling to come up with colour schemes. My initial instinct was to do everything as EC colour scheme but read the books and realised this was not accurate fluff wise. I also don’t feel that he would get a huge amount of support from the legions.

I can’t find a big visual list of CSM colour schemes like you could find for the endless chapters of loyalists so if anyone know of one of this that would be handy.

Otherwise how have others approached this?

I don't think there's anything official for creations of Bile colour scheme, so the mix of war-bands seems the best way to go.

If you want a more unified look, you could pick a unifying colour for the army as a whole and make identifying marks to show the different war-bands. I'm thinking along the lines of Deathwatch, where the unifying colour is black, but the pauldrons are different depending on the source chapter. For Bile, maybe EC colours or the leather tone of Bile's coat could be the army's unifying colour?

The enhanced Marines which used to come in the box set with Bile were a very dark red with white helmet(s).

He is referring to this boxed set:
Spoiler:

The enhanced marines actually had the same colour scheme as Bile himself back then: dark purple-red armour with gold trim and no helmets. The armour was Chaos Black with Scab Red edge highlights, IIRC. The closest equivalent to the old Scab Red paint today is probably Gal Vorbak Red.

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

I am painting my Creations army with each unit being from a different lesser known warband from the codex. The Chaos codex has a page of examples that I plan to use. Such as the Purged and Crimson Slaughter. I figure they wouldn't know his reputation yet and would seek him out to be enhanced. They won't make that mistake again.

I also use Delaque gangers as cultists painted up to look like twisted lab assistants.

Bile works with, and enhances a variety of warbands he "works with". The warband could be any colour, as he won't usually work with the same warband for long once he's used them up for his purposes.

I've had a bunch of the Dark Vengeance Chaos marines lying around for ages. They look ridiculous mixed into actual CSM squads, and since Chosen have been bad forever, I've just had four boxes worth just collecting dust (I don't even recall why I got so many in the first place), but I felt like they made perfect "Bile Marines".

I painted mine up like Crimson Slaughter because I always liked the look of the bright red combined with a strong blue for things like OSL glows, etc.

Then I used a bunch of Necromunda minis for cultists. Got some of the really huge Goliaths to be his "Gland Hounds", and mixed them in amongst Corpse Grinder Cult minis to represent the more Khornate type of cultist that might follow the Crimson slaughter around.

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

Wait, what were we talking about again? Did I ever tell you about the time I gave you five bees for a quarter? That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..."

Sounds very cool, shame we don’t have rules for gland hounds
