Trying out this 2k list. I know it is a little light on troops, but strikes are so expensive and die too easy, and terminators are expensive...

So some thoughts behind this list. I try to make most psychic powers available as possible. I also find psychic mortal wounds are still very important to this army, hence why I use purge soul, Vortex of doom, and banner of flame. Also, a bro capt is just to vital to my play style. Also, I know the 2x apothecaries is a bit abnormal. They are pretty good cc characters with 5A (6 with banner) on the charge. With hammers, they can end big things by themselves and self heal (which i find is important when gk turn into hero hammer by turns 4-5). I like Vortex on my interceptor squad since they are position themselves.

This list gets advantages from all of the tides of the warp with all the psy weapons and opportunities for smites.

I wouldn't put that missle launcher on the number 1 dreadnaught -- you just don't have so many units in play that its reasonable to expect to keep him out of melee all game with screening and shooting.

So I reckon he will need a dcw more than 1 extra s8/-2/d6 plink per turn in the shoot phase.

I would just change out captain stern for another HQ choice maybe a brother captain instead pointwise he’s decent but of all the options not so great especially if you aren’t playing against daemons. But if you ever do play daemons take him!

The reason I like Stern is he is 8 pts cheaper and he can cast 2 powers vs the standard Bro Capt's 1 power. Ive had a lot of success with Stern + a banner of flame duo. Lots of mortal wounds together.

The reason I would take a standard BC would be to take a psycannon/psilencer for the tide for shooting. I could pull an interceptor for this.
