How long has the spray paint been out of stock exactly? I put it on email reminder two weeks back and I haven’t heard anything yet. Have some Ultramarine tanks so wanted some Macragge Blue and Chaos Black for the Sisters of Battle. Do you know what the issue is exactly. I am reluctant to order from Element or Wayland since they’re ordering from GW and I don’t trust their expected delivery dates.

I’ve been getting overpriced spray paint from Amazon for like 7 months now because GW never seems to have any.

Really? That’s real bad like. I have some Chaos black left but not enough for all my stuff much less the next Sisters release with the Walker things. Plus I’ve already done my tanks in blue spray for the Ultra so would be out of place to spray black and paint up. My Sisters have black armour and I wouldn’t want to end up with a different shade or tint using another brand.

Have they given a reason why they’re out of stock? Is this a demand or production/safety thing?

Everything is screwy with COVID. Browse the webstore - some much stuff is just out of stock. Even armies that don't have a new book like Orks.

Just find a local store that stocks GW stuff. They usually have that stuff on a click and collect.

As noted with Corona everything is a bit messed up and spraypaint likely has to be bought in by GW and then redistributed by them. So chances are their supply has issues.

Might be GW are burning through more stock than normal and had to put an order in outside of normal restocks; might be the factory is understaffed and over demand and can't get sprays for GW and other customers out fast enough; might be corona+brexit means there's a load waiting for a container or stuck in shipping or such.


Basically there's a LOT messing with international trade right now. Stuff is still moving, but slower and sometimes volumes are hard to ensure etc.. It's messy and will likely remains so for quite a while.

Also, at least here, spray paint has shipping restrictions.

It has to be shipped by ground, and presumably has warnings and restrictions on the containers.

No idea if GW's sprays are made in the UK or not, but if not, a low priority minor hazard probably sees them getting bumped for other goods.

Yep same here on the restrictions for transport. It's the same for any aerosol cans and similar products.

I should also mention that spray cans are convenient but a massive case of false economy if using GW products. Given the difficulty you have in getting them, maybe it’s time to get a nice cheap airbrush? If you are just doing it for priming, you’ll save a fortune in the long run and can start using colours GW sprays don’t accommodate for as well.

I switched to using car primer because my local didn't have GW's in stock.
Can't say I've noticed a drop in quality, works fine, and is much cheaper - especially compared to GW's.

I think most sellers are expecting a re-stock next week, maybe the end of it off the top of my head... However, they were expecting it last week so who knows...

On a note, Halfords Matt Black primer is decent... And cheap...

Do Ontabletop deliver spray cans to you? Though looking again the 5-9 days dispatch probably means theyre waiting on stock

I've been having huge trouble finding any black primers in an aerosol lately, hopeng hobbymad will have some in by the time i need it, which god knowd when that is as my Wayland order still seems to be sitting in the uk the last 2 week
