Hey all, when I was young I never modeled much less painted anything. Fast forward years later I discovered 40k & fell in love with the lore while buying a full army of Vostroyans. As they were casted pewter I had little to modify but I loved playing them on tabletop albeit unpainted. I sold them & when I began collecting Orks I enjoyed customizing over 100 Boyz to be unique from one another. Although tedious I enjoyed assembling them. I decided it was onto painting & bought a full Armypainter set along with brushes. When I began painting I realized I loathed this aspect of the hobby. It wasn't so much that my painting skills were sub-par or that painting over 100 models was daunting so much as I simply didn't enjoy painting. I admit it was frustrating to paint fine details but I simply love playing the game more than anything else. I feel as though I am missing out on half of the hobby but as long as I get to assemble the minis I am satisfied with hiring people to then paint them.
TL;DR: I enjoy playing 40k tabletop but don't want to paint my minis. What are some affordable companies to get my army painted to tabletop standard? When I send my miniatures out should I have them primed beforehand? Also I have about 100 infantry models primed & just the skin painted. Should I soak them in simple green and remove the paint/primer so that whoever I commission to paint them can start from scratch? Thank you for your help.

It'll depend on who you commission, but in general the closer the figures are to 'ready to paint' the less the painter will charge. Time = $$$, if your models are already assembled, cleaned, based, and primed, the total commission cost should be less than if you're sending in a box of plastic sprues. Some commission painters won't even take unassembled models.

What about the models I have that are primed & only the skin painted?
Any painting companies you would recommend that are affordable?

I'm not the commissioning sort, sorry I don't have any painter recommendations - I'm more the person other people would get to paint! To me the painting is more fun than the game itself.
Partially painted (the skin) isn't likely to make a big difference vs. primed. The commission painter is probably going to put a full coat of whatever skin colour they end up using over all da' Boyz, since they likely won't have your specific paint on hand. Unless they're all done to that stage and you include the paint bottle with the shipment.

Ah makes sense. I do have the paints I used for the skin so I will most likely ship it to them too
