Hi,

I am planning my 2k necron army and I came up with this:

++ Battalion Detachment 0CP (Necrons) [98 PL, 12CP, 2,000pts] ++

Dynasty Choice: Circumstance of Awakening: Relentlessly Expansionist, Dynastic Tradition: Eternal Conquerors, Dynasty: <Custom>

+ No Force Org Slot +

2x Bound Creation [2 PL, 40pts]
. Cryptothralls

+ HQ +

2x Chronomancer [4 PL, 80pts]: Entropic Lance

Lord [5 PL, 75pts]: Relic: Veil of Darkness, Warlord, Warlord Trait (Codex 5): Implacable Conqueror (Aura), Warscythe

+ Troops +

4x Necron Warriors [12 PL, 260pts]
. 20x Necron Warrior (Gauss Reaper): 20x Gauss Reaper

+ Fast Attack +

3x Canoptek Scarab Swarms [4 PL, 75pts]
. 5x Canoptek Scarab Swarm: 5x Feeder Mandibles

+ Heavy Support +

3x Canoptek Doomstalker [7 PL, 140pts]

++ Total: [98 PL, 12CP, 2,000pts] ++

My second idea is to exchange lord for another chrono, and replace 1 unit of warriors for Cryptothralls and lychguards with shields so I could vail them to secure objective.

9+3+3 Scarabs would let you make the best use out of your Chronomancers and also lets you have a few throwaway units for board control. A Technomancer would be able to massively increase the damage output of your Canoptek units with the right equipment.

No Lord no Command Protocols.

true

Barge with voltaic Staff could be good

The regular Lord is enough, I was just warning you not to remove the Lord without putting in someone to manage Command Protocols.

If you're running 3 Doomstalkers you should 100% be running a technomancer with the control node.

Damage output is similar with 2 Doomstalkers buffed vs 3 unbuffed. 4.66 hits vs 5.25 hits on average and then you'd get to reanimate warriors ~2 per turn.

Thanks for your advices. I was reading and analysing some necron lists and tactics and I made some adjustments.

++ Battalion Detachment 0CP (Necrons) [98 PL, 9CP, 1,995pts] ++

+ Configuration +

[Reference] Command Protocols (All)

Battle Size [12CP]: 3. Strike Force (101-200 Total PL / 1001-2000 Points)

Detachment Command Cost

Dynasty Choice: Circumstance of Awakening: Relentlessly Expansionist, Dynastic Tradition: Eternal Conquerors, Dynasty: <Custom>

+ No Force Org Slot +

2x 2x Cryptothrall:

Dynastic Advisor [6 PL, 110pts]
. Chronomancer: Arkana: Countertemporal Nanomines, Entropic Lance, Relic: Veil of Darkness

+ HQ +

Catacomb Command Barge [9 PL, -2CP, 150pts]: Gauss Cannon, Hand of the Phaeron, Relic: Voltaic Staff, Staff of Light, Warlord, Warlord Trait: thrail

Chronomancer [5 PL, -1CP, 95pts]: Arkana: Cryptogeometric Adjuster, Dynastic Heirlooms, Entropic Lance

Technomancer [4 PL, 90pts]: Canoptek Control Node

+ Troops +

4x 20x Necron Warrior (Gauss Reaper)

+ Fast Attack +

2x 5x Canoptek Scarab Swarm: 5x Feeder Mandibles

+ Heavy Support +

2x Canoptek Doomstalker [7 PL, 140pts]

++ Total: [98 PL, 9CP, 1,995pts] ++

Idea is that: one unit of warriors will be vailed with chronomancer where needed, Countertemporal Nanomines will protect them from charges. Barge and another chrono will buff rest of the warriors midfield, scarabs will scarab, technomancer buffs doomstalkers. I am wondering if it is worth keeping thralls, or exchange them for more scarabs.
