I’m starting a crusade and have 5 requisition points to spend.

what should I spend my requisition points on (traits, relics...?)

1. Configure your tank commander differently. I would make him a fairly short ranged tank that charges into the fray and slaughters things by.

gatling turret cannon, stormbolter,
2 sponsoon multimeltas, and a heavy flamer,
hunterkiller missle.

The use the RP not to get a warlord trait on him (its safer by far to have the company commander a warlord) but instead, to put on him the crusade basic relic that lets one weapon casue a mortal wound on any natural six to hit roll. I recommend the 40 dice of the angry gatling turret, with reroll 1's, would let him dish out 8 or so mortal wounds per shot group. and some horrific damage to anyone who tries to charge him, or hold him in melee, I note, as well.

Its not perfect but basically, from the center of the board, he can always move into range to mess with someone, firing his various 24 inch range weapons.

It could also keep the plasma cannons and lascannon for a longer ranged option .. .but in small games, I think that turret with the mortal wounds is very strong.

So then, this doesn't answer your question what to spend the RP's on. I think, however, and you should check the rules to see if I read them right, you could spend one to have the necessary pregame permission to make this killer tank ALSO a tank ace with a -1 ap on his main turret weapon. Now its 40 5/-1/1 and 6 to 8 mortal wounds, once he gets to the midboard (basically turn 1 or 2) he can establish a very not safe for the enemy area.

An alternate way to do this would be to give him the tank ace for -1 to damage inbound fire, and standardize his guns on 36 inches (all the plasma all the guns, and 1 lascannon).
That's also got some use against things with shorter ranged fire.

I would then spend 4 poitns for a basic malleus inquisitor with a combimelta and a daemonhammer. He is a psyker with 1 cast, 1 deny, and 1 spell + smite known. (A good spell is psychic pursuit, which lets himi fire his melta gun as a glorified sniper rifle of doom. You can instantly delete an unlucky rolling enemy officer with this -- and it measn he is likely to earn a lot of crusader experience between melta shots and smiting each turn. When he gets upgrades, arbiter of the emperor's will gives him a relic (-1 to be wounded) and a warlord trait (+1 cast, spells known, and denies from the malleus trait)... and then later, alpha psyker gives him even one MORE known spell and deny.

By the time he is rolling with 2 cast, 3 deny, and his pick of dominate (stop shooting yourself!), psychic pursuit (Fine, then I will shoot you.) and perhaps something else like warding incantaiton (can't touch this!). Warding incantation's 5++ invuln shielding for a friendly infantry unit can be granted to up to 30 of convicts -- and turn them (wiith the aid of a friendly astropath's aegis spell) into a 4++ nightmare to shift.

Thanks but unfortunately I’m playing with what I have access to at the moment. I don’t have a lot of money to spend on stuff so just get what i can second had and make do. I’d love a punisher.
