Hello everyone, i'm really tempted to start an ork army, and the only Klan that seems appealing is the goffs. Any advice are appreciated, in case I missed anything.
Orks goffs battalion
-hq- ghazghkull thraka 300 (warlord: proper killy)
-hq- big mek in mega armour (kustom force field, grot oiler, power klaw, kustom mega blasta) 130 (relic: killa klaw)
-hq- weirdboy 75 (warphead: warpath, fists of gork)
-troop- ork boyz (30, slugga choppa, nob/powerklaw) 250
-troop- ork boyz (30, slugga choppa, nob/powerklaw) 250
-troop- ork boyz (30, slugga choppa, nob/powerklaw) 250
-elite- nob with banner (kustom shoota, powerklaw) 98
-elite- painboy (powerklaw) 65
-elite- meganobz (5, 5x pair of killsaws) 200
-fast- deffkopta (twin bigshoota) 35
-fast- deffkopta (twin bigshoota) 35
-heavy- deffdreads (2, 4x dread klaw, 4x dread saw) 210
-heavy- mek gun (traktor kannon) 50
-heavy- mek gun (traktor kannon) 50
Total 1998
Tactics; the mek guns hold backfield objectives and shoot the aircraft or armoured targets, deffkoptas race for flanking objectives. Everything else just swarm around big mek, painboy and ghaz, and advance for midfield fighting.
Cp allocation (17 cp during the course of game);
- 1 for the warphead
- 1 for the kleverest boss
- 3 for the unstoppable green tide
- 3 for the get stuck in ladz
- 3 for the skarboyz upgrade
- 2 for the medisquig (healing ghaz and weirdboy's perils)
- 1 for the hit em harder
- 1 for the dreaded death machine
- 2 for the orks are never beaten

Hi, nice list!
I would maybe put Kilsaw on your Boyz Boss nobs. S x2 AP -4 D 2 seems better than S x2 AP-3 d D3 for most cases.
For the points i would probably go Smasha gunz over traktor Kannons on the Mek gunz.
I like the way you have listed your plan for Cp during the game, that's a really good idea.

Hey thanks for reply, those are great suggestions, the one thing that this list struggles against are aircraft, so I picked up traktor kannons to deal with them. The cp allocation is sometimes good and helps to tailor your army for certain strategies, but that's not always possible and sometimes situations need adaption.

Nice list. I like traktor kannons for the autohit, but with only 2 you risk having practically no shooting if they get erased on turn 1. I think the dreds probably contribute the least here, since you already have meganobz and Ghaz, perhaps swap 1 dred for 2 more mek guns?

I could see the deffkoptas in a deathskulls list for obsec but in this list they wouldn't really do much other than be an annoyance, or worse just give ur opponent something to shoot at turn 1. You could keep them in the back as cheap Loot It options but I think if you're running horde maybe its worth considering dropping the few lightly armored vehicles you have for more bodies i.e.- Lootas & Kommandos. I'd drop the MANz too if you don't plan to tellyport or have a transport.

If you're scared of aircraft drop the dreads, bring 10 tankbustas + 4 bomb squigs instead and outflank them. Fire the bomb squig against ground targets and rokkits against flyers using more dakka. Add another couple of traktor kannons instead of the banner nob if you need even more firepower.

hey guys thanks for the feedback, I'd like to keep deffdreads and meganobz to do the heavy lifting, and the banner nob is a great force multiplier. The lootas and tankbustas are too squishy targets (compared to meganobz) but kommandos are tempting choice, i'll have to consider about them. The aircraft is tricky, as I dont want to overcommit to grots holding backfield objectives, one option is just to ignore them and hope that the bombing runs dont kill too many boyz.
