Hey all. My wife is getting into 40K and for her first army she wants to give World Eaters a shot. Alas I don't know tons about building a great list with them. I have taken a couple cracks at list building. I know that the new codex is an undetermined amount of time away and who knows what will change. We will probably play with house rules that give the Bezerkers 2 wounds instead of 1. How do you guys feel about a list like this? 2-3 units of cultists will be necessary and they will likely be fielded as Bloodpact conversions from Gaunt's Ghosts.

Hey, fairly fun balanced fun list. Just depends on how competitive you want it to be. If it's purely casual then anything works.

But if you want to optimise it then do 9x man bezerkers with chainsword/chain axe load out with icon of wrath's and switch power pistol to power fist. Should always try to maximise the squad sizes so your the stratagems are giving you more bang for their buck. 2 sets of these for the rhinos and obviously Kharne in one and maybe consider switching the dark apostle to a chaos champion for reroll wounds instead.

Cultists work for just camping on your objectives. I'd drop any extras for them as they'll just die to a stiff breeze and should really aim to be hidden away anyways. Probably just 2x squads of them would be enough as backline objectives and screening for deep strikers.

I'd look at dropping the mutilators as they're sadly probably contenders for the worst unit in the chaos codex.

Min 5 man terminators with combi bolters and chain axes buffed with strats will blend MSU. Wouldn't invest too much into them for the return you get, so keep them cheap.

With points leftover from the above you should be able to get a third HQ which would be the disco lord with violent urgency warlord trait. This means he'll be increasing the survivability of the maulerfiends and buffing their damage output. Give him talisman of the burning blood and violent urgency to get him and the maulerfiends up the board as fast as possible.

Lasher tendrils are always the better choice for the maulerfiends also.

Those are my thoughts for a more tuned and nasty list anyways

Cool cool. One caveat is i doubt we will have the raw number of chain axes and sworda to pull off 20 dual wielders. This list would be the version we can probably attain... What do you think?

I think that's a pretty powerful list as world eaters go. The threat saturation is great with the combined rhino rush and Daemon engines.

I know the youtube channel Table Top Tactics best world eaters list has a Kytan. Works as a big threat that your opponent needs to focus on turn 1 allowing the rest of your army to push up the board. The lord of skulls does that perfectly.

Makes for a very fun World Eaters list also.

See what others say, but to me if I went to a semi competitive tournament I'd find it scary to go up against!

Its a cool list. It probably won't win tournaments. But its fluffy and likely to be quite fun to play.

Raptors do early captures or harassment, mobile reinforcement. Rhinos are filling in behind. Obliterates drop on a point where they have aggressive firing potential. The Contemporar and Hellbrute are more-or-less responses to heavy units with anti-tank capability.
