Hello,

I am starting a Custodes Army. I bought some Custodian Guards with the intent zu magnetize them but i feel this is kind of difficult and i dont know if its even necessary. So my Questions are:

Should I even bother magnetizing? In your Army Lists, is there a Lot of variance in your Guard Weapon Loadout? Did you Guys magnetize and what are your thoughts on it (worth it/waste of time)? Also do you use the Forgeworld Weapons? Also, how many Shield Captains do you guys use? (more than one?)

Thanks a lot!

So how many are you running 4? 12? IMO you want 1-2 sword and boards and keep them in groups of 3-4. The spears are devestating in melee and having 2-3 in a 4 man squad can wipe stuff off the map. And honestly Just buy an extra guard set and kit them 2 spears and 2 sword and board and switch out as you see fit. Magnetizing in a small army like custodes doesn't matter all that much unless its the bikes or Telemon

I wouldn't personally bother magnetising the individual weapons, looks far too fiddly. What I would do however, is magnetise one of them so you can exchange their weapon for a Vexilla. It's very simple and a lot easier than magnetising the Spears/Shields.

In general I tend to run 2GS + 1-2SS, although I've been using Sag Guard more and more.

For Shield Captains I usually take a Vertus Captain by default and a Captain on foot, but I usually try to upgrade him to Trajan. His Moment Shackle and wound reroll aura are hugely beneficial to a Custodes force.
