Hi all, as I’ve started a new chapter of Black Vipers I wanted to ask if you think we’ll get more content for them in the future?

All we know at the moment is their a seclusive Chapter closely linked to the Mechanicus and I’d like to create my own lore and characters but at the same time to if they plan to write more for the Black Vipers.

What are your thoughts?

Impossible to say. But quite possibly no.

GW will often give little teasers to other chapters as part of general world building, and this doesn't necessarily mean they have any intention to expand on them. Often they will be a custom chapter someone working in the studio has and someone puts a little thing about them in the book as a nod to them.

But at the same time, its possible someone writes a novel about them and one day they get their own white dwarf codex or something. But I wouldn't hold your breath.

99% not gonna see anything more detailed than their current mention from GW. There're dozens of chapters that got once-off named or name-dropped in various Codexes over the years and were never mentioned again.

It's probably a chapter you should pick if you like to make up your own lore (but still have that little name-drop in the Codex).

If you want something with more background by GW, you'd probably want to go for a different chapter, either the really prominent ones (i.e. Ultramarines, Salamanders, etc..) or perhaps a chapter that had some Forge World (e.g. Badab War stuff) or Black Library (Iron Snakes, Death Spectres, Spears of the Emperor, etc..) treatment in the past (but even those might never again see new lore in many cases).

Very unlikely they'll do anything but GW being GW impossible to fully say. You should be fine doing your own thing. If they ever do add anything you can easily retcon some things to mash them together.
