Hearing almost no talk about this army recently. For those that can still game...how are they doing? What lists are performing well?

I play:
40K: Daemons, Tau
AoS: Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch
Warmachine: Convergence of Cyriss
Infinity: Haqqislam, Tohaa
Malifaux: Bayou
Star Wars Legion: Republic & Separatists
MESBG: Far Harad, Misty Mountains

Well list way they have very little variety. The objective kicker seems to be must though.

Looks to be midtier army. Can win but some armies simply delete them. Seraphon can one shot gargants with ease as can khaine ladies. Tzeentch can screw them while tying them on horror wound spam.

So don't face tournament top dogs and you can do okay. Can get bit repeative without much customisation though. Something to keep in mind.

My giants are doing quite well.

I run 1x Warstomper (because that's how I built him), 1x {varies}, 1 unit of 3 Mancrushers, & 2 solo Mancrushers.

I've played all three tribes, but I favor the Warstompers tribe for all his varied command abilities, allowing all my Mancrushers to throw rocks, & the enchanted oak club that can keep him alive. That ability to not die has come in very handy & surprises/annoys the foe.

Model wise I use 1 official Warstomper, 1 "giant" from WHFB 5th ed (He's so tiny compared to current stuff!), & two plastic Mancrushers.
After that? There's been sooo many good giants (of the "correct" sizes - for both Megas & mancrushers) made by so many companies over the years & already on my shelves.... I have no qualms using non-GW stuff. Especially if I'm aiming to field Frost Giants.
If you want a good looking & affordable Mega? Mantic makes a very nice giant at around $40. And Meirce(sp?) makes a very nice Mega sized undead giant.

To date my giants have lost one game (of 7). Due to low model count I couldn't stop the orcs from looting enough objectives.
My usual opponents are Lumineth, Orcs, Khorne (mortals), assorted undead. I've also stomped on some Beastmen & dino-heavy Serephron.
All of the games, whatever the objectives, have been nice simple straight up brawls. Sometimes it's just nice to pilot a "simple" army & smash anything they come in contact with.
Although I do sometimes wish I had a magic phase..... I could use the Mercenary rules & get me some wizards but I'd have to give up a mancrusher pts wise. Overall I'm not sure it'd be worth it as I do need that giant. And it'd be pointless vs my Luminoth playing buddy.

Overall verdict?
Fun additional army to play.
But if this was your only/primary army? It'd get boring real quick as there's not much variation in playstyle.

Yep albeit I haven't played them yet myself but that seems my impression as well. I can see myself getting them one day(though plenty of other stuff I need first...) but as primary army? Nah I would get too bored soon. Not helped I rarely play same list twice in a row anyway For me biggest drag on tournaments is 3/5 games with same list. Boooooooring ;-)

I'd start with buying 1 mega as every faction can include one (and only one) as an ally.
Then I'd either:
•Build it as the one that allies with my force - if I only had 1 Sigmar army/played only one overall alliance.
•If I played forces from several alliances (and I do) I'd make it as an amalgamation of all three sets of parts so I could claim he's whatevers needed that day.
Make him a little three sided, magnetized, name plate for his base as the allies are all named.
And this is indeed my plan for when I someday pick up a 2nd GW Mega.
