Okay so something came up in a recent game of mine. For those unaware the DG Psyker can dish out a mortal wound to the closest unit within 12" when he successfully manifests a psychic power on a roll of 7+. The issue is there was an enemy unit with just 1 model in Contagion (-1T aura) range and the Psychic power in question was Curse of the Leper which has you roll 7 dice, and every roll that exceeds the units T value does a mortal wound. That model had 1 wound remaining and so my opponent argued that since the Plaguecasters ability goes of on a successful manifestation it goes first before the power itself goes off. Which would have meant that I'd only do mortals on a 6+ rather than a 5+. From there we got 3 different ruling in my group. 1: as before, ability goes off first taking the unit (since the 1 wound model dies) out of contagion range meaning I get mortals on a 6+. 2: (My interpretation) both go off at the same time leaving it to me, the turn player, to decide on sequencing, having me wound on 5+ and 3: our spectator/impromptu judge saying that manifesting a psychic power also means it goes off first and any and all rules related to the successful manifestation off it take effect afterwards. We couldn't really find the answer ourselves and it is admittedly a rather niche interaction but I'd like to hear what your opinions are on this. Edit: I realized adding the rules in full might be helpful for you people so here goes the ability and psychic power in question: Pestilential Fallout: Each time this model successfully manifests a psychic power, if the result of the Psychic test was 7 or more, the closest enemy unit within 12" suffers 1 mortal wound. Curse of the Leper has a warp charge value of 6. If manifested, select the closest enemy unit that is within 18" of and visible to this PSYKER. Roll seven D6s: for each dice result that exceeds that enemy unit’s Toughness characteristic, it suffers 1 mortal wound.

From the Core Rules Glossary
Successful manifested: When attempting to manifest a psychic power, if the Psychic test was successful and there was no successful Deny the Witch test, then that power is said to be successfully manifested. Resolve its effect.
In this case, both the effect of the psychic power and the Pestilential Fallout are triggered by the successful manifestation of the power. At best, sequencing allows you to choose which happens first. At worst, you must resolve the power before Pestilential Fallout.

"the psychic power is successfully manifested and its effects, ... ... , are then resolved"
Pestilent fallout: "Each time this model successfully manifests ... ..."
Blightcaster fart wafts over first, then the power goes off.

But why? Both are procced off the successful manifestation so shouldn't they go off at the same time?

Pyschic powers manifest and are then resolved. These are not simultaneous, from the "are then" language of psychic powers.
Presumably GW had the forethought to do this to allow for things like the Fartseers pestilent fallout ability.

That makes sense, I guess my grasp on English isn't good enough. I did not realize the "are then" makes a break in the sequence. Thanks for clearing it up.
