While the title is pretty self-explanatory I must add some details:

I was recently pretty lucky and managed to get a Ta'unar, and to future-proof it I'm trying to work out how to magnetize the back, I want to make the entire weapon assembly removable rather than just the guns so I can hot-swap the systems if I want. magnets do not seem to be doing the trick, the guns are too heavy once attached to the cradle. If any of you guys have managed to magnetize the back, how did you do it and what magnet size did you use or did you do something different entirely?

I don't have a Taunar but I've experienced the same issue trying to magnetise a Reaver. From my understanding the issue isn't the weight of the weapon, it's the turning force exerted on the magnet due to the weapon being very long.

To fix this I simply used much stronger magnets, although the Taunar mount I'm guessing is much smaller than the Reaver. In that case you could also use pins. Get it lined up and use brass rod as a pin, but only glued in one end. I've seen projects such as Thunderhawks where they've used it for the wings and it seems to work well, although obviously you won't be able to pivot the weapon, but it seems a worthwhile tradeoff in my opinion.
