Hi guys. I wanted to share my experience playing blood angels yesterday. I have been looking into craftworlds as fire support for my ‘quins. This is probably common knowledge for you guys, but James Kelling from goonhammer won a tournament with a soaring spite batallion with 3 fusion boats and a cwe outrider detachment with a farseer and 3 hornets. So I wanted to try 3 hornets for myself, I’ve had a farseer in my list for a while and he can really demolish marines with executioner. And with doom he can really buff those hornets. My list is frozen stars, 4x5 caress, 12 bikes, 3 boats, dj, ss and tm. 3 hornets and a farseer. List below.

Hornets are awesome, other than the great value, they play super nicely with my ‘quins. I tested the 2 equipments for the Hornets this game, advancing turns the guns into assault(10points) and roll 2d6 for advance rolls(5points). I didn’t make much use of these since they already have great move, so I’ll probably just buy spiritstones (6+++) next time. (Ive already made the changes in the list below). I’ve always had to use boats for character blocking,
But now that I had 3 more hyper mobile (18”) vehicles that lets me push my troupes up where I want them. They were really useful for engage on all fronts. Not to mention the fact they were shredding marines, I used 2xpulse laser; 4 shots bs3, s7, d2, ap2. Expert crafters reroll on 1 hit and 1 wound roll. Masters of concealment was also very useful +1 save outside 12”, because they are pretty squishy(t6, w8 , sv3). Anyways, hope my experience can be of use to some of you. C&C appreciated.

I like the list. I've mulled over running Harlequins and Craftworlds together, but never had much success. My armies always felt like they lacked synergy and competed for CP usage.

Hornets are a solid choice as you have them equipped. I've always found their base movement sufficient to the point I did not want to incur the -1 to hit penalty for advancing (they don't have Battle Focus).

I can imagine solid synergy with this combination with Harlequins.

After several games using Masterful Shots and Masters of Concealment, I opted to Masterful Shots. Masterful Shots removes cover saves which there is nothing an opponent can do to mitigate the ability. Master of Concealment is good, but opponents can position units to circumvent the ability. Ultimately, I preferred the ability that my oppoment cannot impact.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Thank you for your input. I haven’t had a problem with my opponents getting cover saves, but that might just be them playing badly. Are there many armies with a masters of concealment type rule, because if there are, it’s even more reason to bring masterful shots. On the other hand, my opponent really didn’t want to get within 12” with his plasma inceptors last game.

Nearly any army I face have elements pushing forward. Yesterday, two out of three games had opponents getting units within 12" (Grey Knights and Drukhari). Assault is very important and there is quite a bit that has efficient shooting within 12".

It's not game breaking to take a Masterful Shots overMasters of Concealment, but I've run into too many occasions opponents get in close to eliminate the cover save.

That’s great information. I’m playing almost only my BA these days, and he doesn’t have much shoot, and he never gets within 12” with any shooty stuff. I’ll try masterful shots instead of Concealment next game. Thoughts on fusion load out? Should I rather go 4-5 caress and fusion in one boat?
