I know this is the Army list forum. But with a new book having dropped, players are going to be crunching numbers for new lists, and I think this helps most here.

The new profile on Dark Lances means new Math Hammer. In the previous book, the DisCans were actually better at nearly every target, until T8, and even then, DisCan volume had the wound output close. But now DLs are less swingy in Damage and this needs looking at.

Going with Ravager platforms, for higher volume numbers to calculate performance. That is, 3 Ravagers and the 9 guns, either DLs or DisCans.
I'm going to skip variables like archon reroll bubbles to hit and WritotLivingMuse**, and assuming targets are without Invulns and whatever FNP exists in 9e. And, it is anti-Tank capability I'm looking at for starters, since the Haywire gun took a tooth pulling nerf.

DLs
Versus T8 - 9 shots. 6 hit. 3 wound S vs. T. Then an average of 15 wounds are dealt out (three times D3+3=15), killing most tanks, or dropping Imp. Knights past mid-tier.
Versus T7-5 - 9 shots. 6 hit. 4 wound S vs. T. Then an average of 20 wounds.
Versus T4> - 9 shots. 6 hit, 5 wound. We are in infantry pulping territory, and this is where DisCans will out perform, as this will only kill 5 Primaris (assuming Ab-something Physiology is not applied.).

DisCans
Versus T8-6 - 27 shots. 18 hit. 6 wound. And there will be an armor save in there, so 5 get through, doing 10 to our T8 target.
Versus T5 - 27 shots. 18 hit. 9 wound. As above, there will be an armor save or two, so 7 or 9 hits get through, doing 14 to 18 wounds. The thing is, there will be few single model targets with a buncha wounds at T5, as few vehicles are T5 (elvish transports). Most T5 targets will be bullgryn or other T5 infantry.
Versus T4> - 27 shots. 18 hit. 12 wound. Again, there'll be couple 6+ armor saves, but it is still 10 getting thru, possibly smoking a Primaris crew.

A rousing come back for the Dark Lance taking back its place as the Druhkari's premier anti-T gun. Beat it, upstart Haywire!

How's my Math? Did I crunch numbers correctly?

**Just read/figured out that Writ of the Living Muse applies to core units only and Blades for Hire if RSR, ... that's not boats.

Dis cannons are also more expensive, which should be factored in. If you consider 3 ravagers, that's 45 points of difference between the two loadouts.
