Really fun game with some interesting mechanics thrown in.
Defending warriors just wonder around until they realise something is horribly wrong in the town. The Ninja need to pick their targets well and steal the Wok of a thousand flavours!

What peaked my inntrest back in the day on ToH was the honrable/dishonrable actions, and that it uses the random turn function from Bolt Action.

I never moved beyond v1 core box tough.

V2 is a good improvement. It's not massively different just more refined. It's probably my most played game at the club

So for a re entry to the game, this would prolly be the best way? I have all the minis from the v1 starter box too.

Well, if you already have the V1 starter box, then you can just get this bundle. https://testofhonour.com/collections/gaming/products/test-of-honour-minimum-upgrade-bundle
The activation tokens etc.. are the same from V1, so you don't really need the tokens in the new box.
Also if you already have the plastic models then you may want to skip that bundle you linked to, unless you really like those minis of course (they are really good)

If you have minis for the other factions. Ninjas/ronin/monks etc... then you will want to get the card packs, which have all the cards for them. The cards in the starter set are just for regular samurai/ashigaru etc..

Looks like that was a fun game, nice write up too. It's nice to see more ToH on Dakka. It's a very pleasant game, a game which takes up all of my precious hobby time!

I never played a night mission though, so this was an interesting battle report.

Thanks!

Yes it was an.. interesting game. Not all that fun for the one controlling the troops wondering around without a clue, and I really think I will introduce some house rules as troops suddenly running 6" away for multiple turns is a bit immersion breaking.
