A DCC RPG boxed set, officially licensed by the estate of Jack Vance. Adventure with IOUN Stones and The Excellent Prismatic Spray!
You will need a copy of the Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG in order to use this set, and it is offered as an add-on here.
Jack Vance is probably my all time favorite author, so when I stumbled across this on Kickstarter, well, I'm all in!
Jack Vance's "Dying Earth" setting provided a lot of 'inspiration' for what made it into (A)D&D, back in the day...
Should be a lot of fun - allegedly shipping in September of 2022!

Went in on the big box + modules.
Dying Earth is a great setting, perfect for DCC, and there's plenty of content here to mix and match with other DCC gonzo settings.
And of course they've absolutely blown past all of their stretch goals.

It was nice to see the support this one got right out of the gate.
Jack Vance probably doesn't get the respect and/or acknowledgement he deserves - the guy was an absolutely fantastic author with a brilliant imagination!

What's the gist of DCC as a system? Is it another flavor of OSR? Hyper-dangerous dungeon hacks? This looks tempting, but we own like five flavors of OSR already and rarely use them.

It is exactly that.
On the upside, using the modules for any other OSR (or any edition of D&D) is pretty easy. Like 1st or BECMI, it doesn't have a lot of,player facing rules, and simple monster stat blocks.
I'm kind of amused at this Kickstarter, to be honest. Most people who remover Vance at this point only know that the D&D Magic system is fethed up, unintuitive and weird because Gary was trying to ape Vance. Regardless of his quality, 'Vancian Magic' is his unfortunate legacy.

Oh I'll have to check out the kickstarter. I picked up the Pellgrane Press Dying Earth RPG Books a few years back, I liked them quite a bit. Never played got a chance to play DCC but I did enjoy reading their dev diary's prior to its release. I was never keen on the weird dice, I've got plenty of classic Zocchi dice but never felt a need to use a d5 or d14.
Jack Vance is a fantastic author, I really love his style of writing although it took me a bit to get used to it when I was younger. Cugel the Clever is a really enjoyable character to read, if anyone wants to get started with Vance then The Eyes of the Overworld and Cugel's Saga is a great place to start.

It's good to see The Dying Earth getting some love; I've a Dying Earth tribute anthology somewhere, as well as Vance's Lyonesse Trilogy. I think I've read The Demon Princes Series. As a player, did not like the Vancian Magic system. Won't back this since even before COVID, I wasn't RPGing, but glad it's doing well.

This, obviously, would be and 1st-2e D&D it did (to a degree) but now days I hate the D&D every setting has the be the exact same rules/creatures/spells nonsense they've been doing. This is the main reason I'm not backing this I don't need DCC crazy dice system. Seriously: D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, D8, D10, D%10, D12, D14, D16, D20, D24, and D30.

I'm an old school RPGer - I don't mind (and might actually love) all those weird dice... maybe.
Of course, now that I look at it, a D3, D5, D7, D14, D16, D24 and D30 seem odd but...we'll see.

if it were one or two additional dice -- especially like D16 and D30 which are large enough steps I can see justification in them existing (and d30s aren't that rare) -- I'd be less annoyed but that's at least 5 additional dice sets I have to buy just to play the game where half the dice are pretty much useless outside of it and some games from the 90s (d3 use to be in AD&D if I remember correctly).

A D3 is easy enough to simulate using a D6 but the rest does seem a bit much.
And I don't think there was a D3 back in AD&D?

I mean, there's nothing stopping you using a d6 for a d3 or a d10 for the d5.
Having played a little DCC, dice like the d16 and d24 can be used in place of the standard d20 due to situational modifiers, to broaden or narrow the range of probabilities. It seems to work pretty well.
