Greetings,

After a long hiatus from the game (longer than Covid interruption), have joined into an escalation league next Saturday. We start at 500pts.

Currently I am considering the following list;

Detachment - Patrol

HQ
Warboss with PK, Kustom Shoota and Attack Squig. Cost 90
- trait ; might is right
- artifact ; da killa klaw
Big Mekk with KFF and Grot Oiler. Cost 65

Troops

11 Slugga Boyz with TBB: Cost 84
- Nob with Kustom Shoota and Big Choppa
11 Slugga Boys with TBB. Cost 84
-Nob with Kustom Shoota and Big Choppa
10 Shoota Boys with Big Shoota; Cost 82
- Nob with Kustom Shoota and Choppa

Fast Attack
DeffKopta with Rokkets. Cost 44

Heavy Support
2 Mek Gunn with Smasha Guns. Cost 66

Plan is simple ladz. Da Warboss, Mek and Slugga Boyz go forward and krump stuff. Mek Gunz go dakka-dakka stuff. Da Shoota Boys go nick stuff and hold it.

Was thinking about running the above as DeathSkull, but since I plan the cover the Warboss and Slugga boys with the KFF as I push forward the +6 invul seems redundant. Is Goffs or Evil Suns a better choice?

So...I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are using 8th edition points which means all your points are off...and not in a good way. I went ahead and put your list into Battlescribe, it would actually cost you 578pts by 9th edition points.

With that said, here is a solid 500pt Escalation list to build off of.

If you have to have a 2nd HQ, than cut back on 1 Mek gun and the extra boyz and buy a cheap Big Mek W/KFF. If not, than have at it. Use the boyz to hold objectives and deter the enemy, the mek gunz to hit anything substantial and the Warboss on Warbike to absolutely destroy anything that needs to die.

Had thought (incorrectly it appears) that since I had a soft copy codex from GDub it was updated as I had an update recently. Good to see that they have not changed their practices and want me to buy more, because they can mandate it. Nice to know that one thing in the ever changing world is consistent; GDub.

Downloaded the app you used and will re-evaluate based on your comments, the points, and the available models.

If no Mek with KFF can be fit, will probably run as Death Skulls to fit in the 6+ so there is a least a minimal save. Thoughts?

I'm not familiar with Orks so I can't give much in the way of tips and tricks for them, but in addition to BattleScribe as your up-to-date list builder, up-to-date rules from all official sources can be found on wahapedia.ru. It's free and updated by a community of gamers, so it almost always has all the current rules compiled into one place. And unlike the books, it has a search bar, so no digging through the index of several different books to find out what page might have the info you want.

Thanks for the support thus far.

Decided to go with a slightly mod ‘d list from SemperMortis (only a few less boys for a Nob with Big Choppa in each squad). Also thinking of splitting the boy loads out with most, say 6, with Choppa and a few shootas.

To support had had to hastily convert another Smasha Gun from some spare bits; no biggie it was fun diversion.

Any thoughts as to the Clan? Was thinking DeathSkulls for the Invul and rerolls but am starting to think about Evil Sunz so I can get across the board quickly. Appreciate your comment here.

So played Admech with the Warboss Biker, the 3 mobs of Boyz, and the 3 Smasha guns as Death Skulls.

It went very well for the Ladz and we got a ver solid victory playing encirclement. The was very fast and nasty.
