I have no idea if this is the correct place, but are there anyone currently producing Star Trek models? I'd love a few of the ships and DS9 and it could be something I could motivate my dad to do with me to get him off the sofa hypnotised by the TV.

Thanks

Liam

There’s a fair amount knocking around in online stores, (AMT are the biggest manufacturers of them, I know Revell made a few kits too.) I can’t speak of the quality as I’ve never bought them. Try wonderland models or another online store as they seem to have a good variety.

There's a few options, depending on what you're after. The Star Trek: Attack Wing game from WizKids has some pre-built models that you can get unpainted IIRC, and the same for Star Trek: Ascendancy from Gale Force Nine (although those are smaller / lower quality).

There are a few places producing 'traditional' model kits -Wonderland has a selection. AMT are meant to be re-releasing their DS9 kit later this year.

Oh Canada!

Try your local hobby shop - most of them carry some of the mainstream branded sci-fi stuff, including Star Trek and Star Wars. If that's a no-go, then eBay can certainly hook you up. There've been a ton of ST models made over the years, covering all of the main ships and races. They're not the most exciting of kits IMO, given there's just not that many pieces necessary (for most), but that also makes them good for beginners.

They're also fun to light up with LED kits.

I've got a Vor'cha (Klingon) battlecruiser lit up with red LEDs for the impulse engines and orange for the warp nacelles (and a couple of flashing ones for the photon torpedo launchers.

There's just enough room inside the hump on the top rear to mount the switch and battery pack for it.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Modiphius is making characters for their 2d20 RPG. I have some and the quality is excellent. Wizkids has an unpainted line of small ships.

A company called Round 2 had the license for models now, doing a combination of rereleasing older kits and launching new ones.

Quality is really good, I got 3 of their DS9 Runabouts and they are head and shoulders better than the original kit that suffered warping and bad fits.
