I’m working on a lord of change and I want to redo the clawed arms of the wings. I’m trying to figure out the best way.

Option 1 - Thought about clipping off the arms so I can simple green them then, once repainted, super glueing them back on. I’ve never done this and not sure if it’d work.

Option 2 would be to spot strip just the arms. But not sure the best way to do this without damaging paint elsewhere.

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips.

Can't you just paint over the previous?

Spot stripping sounds like a pain. It may be possible, but my stripping experience is pretty low.

Removal is possible but clipping is probably not the best idea as it will deform the material. Sawing with a fine blade saw is what you want. Any removal will result in a loss of material though, so you will likely need to sculpt a new join when reattaching.

Oh Canada!

Do you *have* to strip the arms? Unless the paint is caked on, it's often better to just paint right over the previous layer. Or are you doing some conversion in the process?

Spot-stripping with a thicker or more gel-like stripper is possible. I've done it by dabbing Biostrip 20 onto a figure's face, then carefully scrubbing with a toothbrush after an hour.
