was looking at forgeworlds death korps for items for my diorama and have noted they have retired quite a number of the items on there, just wondering if they have plastic kits coming out in future as seems strange they bring a plastic set out for kill team then remove a number of items from their forge world website, just curious

FW lists a lot of things as NLV rn for a bunch of reasons outlined in another thread.

The infantry and death riders appear to be getting plastic if the ork codex is anything to go by. Rumor is the gusrd codex is also getting a new vehicle kit. Could be a rehashed FW vehicle, but knowing GW theyll make something new so more people will buy it.

Assuming the leak was accurate, that's just a Malcador/Macharius, which would fit with the plastic Death Korps but also isn't really a niche that needs filling with a whole new kit.

That assumes a lot of people bought the Forgeworld vehicle. Having a plastic version opens up the market a bit as not everyone wants to play around with resin and the "fun" prices FW offers.

This got posted on GW's facebook for about a minute and then they took it down. I know it in itself doesnt confirm anything but the fact its a death rider and we just got plastic infantry all but confirms we're getting plastic cavalry in my eyes. Especially with them showing up in the ork codex

Apparently something between Russ and Baneblade. So if it's a FW vehicle that only leaves 2 options, the Malcador and Macharius. The Malcador seems like the obvious choice as it's not a LoW, but in terms of lore it doesn't make sense because it's suppose to be ancient and rare. Maybe GW is going to justify it by saying the Imperium is so desperate they're throwing all the old reserve and mothballed equipment into the conflict.

Perhaps even a tech-priest discovered a STC for some new variants or an improved variant.

The GW community team are a bit like GW store staffers. They can see patterns customers see, but in general they don't actually have all that much advanced warning on what's coming.

That and a lot o their stuff is based on a current release - DKoK just got new plastic models on pre-order so it fits that they'd want to drum up some interest even if there's nothing else coming.

Ehhh...it's worth mentioning that the "army spotlight" stuff is dictated by folks above the community's head.

It's also usually tied to released items & articles. Seeing DKoK mentioned on the "main page" is worth taking notice of, since it would normally be on the FW page.

Kill Team just got released with the plastic DKoK. It's to drum up hype for the plastic unit. It's definitely not a sign of intentions to release more plastic DKoK stuff.

There also aren't that many dramatic and dynamic single model/person artwork of DKoK that will instantly capture the attention of people scrolling, most are very busy (awesome mind), whereas that is unmistakably DKoK at a glance and was chosen for that purpose.

It won't be long till most Krieg artwork used starts to change to have the subtle design changes to the uniform, at which point if that artwork includes rough riders etc with the new design, I'll be more inclined to believe models for them will follow. At this point, I just think it is a good bit of artwork that was too hand used to drum up interest.
