Just trying to clarify some rules after my first official game to make sure I did things correct.

Starting off , I know certain terrain traits have different rules for cover so I’m trying to be as general as possible.

I have a 5 man unit of intercessors which are in range to shoot into a 5 man unit of necron warriors.

Example 1 - when measuring range to the necron warriors, out of my 5 man unit of infercessors the only model that measures in range to shoot the warriors is the first model in my unit. Now when I go to shoot those 5 necron warriors, I only get to shoot with that first model that measured in range of the warriors, I can not use the dice from the other 4 models of intercessors because they are still behind and out of range.

Example 2 - My complete 5 man unit of intercessors is in range to fire into a unit of warriors. After measuring , my 5 intercessors can only reach 3 of the 5 warriors, the other two are just outside of range. When I go to shoot, I can only target those 3 warriors that are in my range, even if I roll enough damage I can bot wound those other 2 warriors since they’re just beyond my range.

Correct, when you measure range only the models within range of a model in the target unit can fire.

If you can shoot at one model in the unit, damage can go to any model in the unit. The player commanding the target unit allocates the wounds/damage done to the models, and he can select one of the other two warriors that weren't in range initially. It's possible that if you do enough wounds you can wipe out the unit, even those that weren't in range initially; wound allocation continues until all the wounds have been allocated or the unit has been wiped out from the damage done by the wounds.

To collect your questions into easy to follow statements:

Each firing model may fire if it has LOS and range to any model in the target unit.
Once you have determined which models can fire, all attacks are made against target unit and can wound any model in the unit, regardless of LOS or range from the attacking unit.
