I seek guidance from the hive mind, O Printy Ones!

LAst night I set a pair od dragon wings printing, due to run for about 18 hours, and when I checked on them before turning in, they were going along nicely. This morning, however, I wake up to find that while there's still plenty of resin in the tank, and the Z axis is still raising and lowering the plate as it should be, the actual print has stopped on the same layer across the entire build plate, just a clean edge maybe 6-7 hours in. There was no resin stuck to the FEP or loose in the vat, so it's almost like the screen just stopped firing at a certain point mid-print.

Anyone got any idea how this happens? All I can think of is that the file size was a fair bit larger due to the number of layers being printed (about 650mb) but that's about all that's different. I have been having issues lately with the screen not working correctly when I turn the printer on (I run Detection and get a series of flickering lines instead of a solid light) but I've found a simple off-and-on-again fixes that for at least one print at a time, and I'd masde sure before setting this going that it was coming on correctly. As I say, the first few hours printed fine, and having checked afterwards, the screen was lighting up right when I ran Detection again.

Any ideas? Ta.

A few thoughts

1) A bad slice or USB data corruption can cause this kind of error where data is just missing. You can take the USB and open up the sliced file in your PC and see if it looks correct.

2) If you are getting screen flickers and other issues it might be

a) A loose cable

b) That your screen is near the end of its lifespan. The screens are a disposable component with a limited lifespan before they stop working correctly.

I had wondered if the screen might be dying. I've had the printer less than a year though (about 10 months), so I'm surprised it's gone so soon.

I just tried another print and while the detection tool showed the screen was working, obviously when I hit print it wasn't as there was nothing in the tank and just a flat rectangle (not the shape of what I was printing) on the build plate, similar to problems I had a couple of weeks ago. So it seems that the screen working or otherwise is basically a lucky dip for the time being.

At this point, I'm guessing a replacement screen for the original Photon might be difficult to get hold of given that it's basically obsolete.
