This time my courageous Halflings (posing as Night Goblins) take on the marauding Chaos Legion.

Set up for Meeting Engagement.
Skarshnik's Sneaky Schemes delays 3 units



Turn 1
The Legion advances. The Sorcerer Lord lights up the Squig Herd with fire magic. The Cygor drops a rock on his foot.



Squig Herd reforms. Curse of the Bad Moon comes up 1 inch short of the Sorcerer Lord and his unit. A Vindictive Glare takes a wound off the Chaos Giant. 1 Doom Diver explodes. The Big Boss on the cave Squig charges the Daemon Prince but gets smack into next year.



Turn 2
Daemon Prince charges the Squig Herd setting off the Fanatics from Skarshnik's unit. The Prince kills a bunch of squigs but takes two wounds in return. Chaos Warriors back up to avoid the Fanatics. The Cygor fails a Strength Test from Curse of the Bad Moon. Spawn on the right catches the wolf riders and they flee off the table.



Gork'll Fix this Daemon Prince.



The Cygor akes a wound from a Fanatic, gets hit by Curse of the Bad Moon and fails another strength test.The giant on the left charges the Khorne Warriors and gets beat down before he can swing. Surprisingly the Squigs finish off the Daemon Prince.



Turn 3

Cygor drops another rock on his foot killing himself. Chaos sorcerer spends most of his spells killing fanatics. The Chaos Giant beats up on spearmen, they pass their break test.



The Chaos Giant kills more spearmen but they hold and reform for ranks. Combined shooting from the archers and Doom Diver kill several Chaos Warriors.




Turn 4
Both the Khorne Warriors and Warriors on the bridge fail their charge against the archers. The chaos Giant takes out some more spearmen. The Big Boss in the unit brings the giant down. However, the giant falls over onto the unit and the Big Boss fails his "Look Out Sir" and is crushed along with several other spearmen.



The Chariot charges the knights, killing only 1 despite getting 7 impact hits. The knights destroy the Chariot causing the spearmen to panic, good thing the Great Shaman left the unit. Poison shooting and the Doom Diver take out the last of the Warriors on the bridge, leaving just the Chaos BSB and Brey Shaman.



Turn 5

Khorne Warriors fail another charge into the archers while the Chaos BSB and Brey Shaman duck for cover. My giant can only do 1 wound a Turn to the Spawn.



Here is the beginning of the end. The Squig Herd charges the Khorne Warriors.



Between the Khorne Warriors and the hero in the unit they kill everyone except 3 Goblins who run for the hills. The frenzied Khorne Warriors overrun into the archers. The Doom Diver misfires and is out for the next turn also. The Brown level 2 Shaman got an Irresistible Force to give the Squigs Sneaky stabbin and got sucked into the Warp for his trouble.



Turn 6

My giant finally kills the Spawn. The Chaos Warriors with the Sorcerer Lord make a 14 inch charge and hit Skarshnik's unit. The Night goblins get caught in their own nets and become strength 2. The Goblins are horribly beat down and flee off the board. The archers hold for now against the Khorne Warriors.




The Great Shaman fails to get off any spells. The giant charges the Knights but gets cut down before he can swing. The Khorne Warriors break the archers but cannot catch them.



Chaos Victory!


This was a fun game that could have gone either way up until Turn 5, after that it was all chaos. My fanatics got released before I would have liked and giants were wasted, but magic and shooting were good. The poor Cygor just couldn't catch a break.
