As an aside, I'm now going about trying to mine out as much cobble as possible so that I can finish my connection to the rail system, preferably turning it in to a tunnel and not just a path.

I'm not mad, just curious. I've never seen a Netherrack repair job before.

I'd haveto get there first . I need the cobble for my nether bridge / tunnel, and so I'm gonna be using a crapton just to get there.

Automatically Appended Next Post: Hey 4oursword, can I borrow some wood from your winter retreat to make some picks so I can finish connecting my netherpath to the rails?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Dunno if I'm done actually, but I am linked (or essentially so) to 4oursword's tunnel now. Dunno if he's linked to the rest of the tunnels.

Certainly. Make sure to refund me (and Gangsta, it's likely his wood)

Damn, I still have a long way to go before my place is REALLY connected to the nether tunnel system. Oh well, at least it isphysically possible for me o use the nether to get back to spawn now, even if it's dangerous.

I'm not really linked per se, but I know the way back well enough not to need it yet.

I think it was yours. Were you the one building with half-slabs for the road surface? There was this bridge going out over a dropp, then stopping- I build to that, thinking it was the Nethersystem.

Ah,I think that was a very early version of it yes.
It's quite a bit different now. A full tunnel complete with walls, roofs, and occasional glass pane windows, going directly to he end of 4oursword's tunnel. Which I'm also expanding.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Can I grab some dirt out of "The Lab", whoever is making it?

If its the lab from the last server that's raptor and dreadnote, though I was sort of working on it so grab it from there and I'll pay them back later if there's a problem.
I haven't been trying the development releases, so I hope it's a bug rather than feature, or that they no longer spawn in light areas, or that there is at least some way to control them :-)
On the other hand, snow, beaches, hills, wool regrowth, etc all sound good.
We don't need a new world for the new biome generation. The changes are only subtle or affect existing biomes. Existing swamps get the new transitions rather than hard colour changes. Existing plain pine forests get snow when it next snows. Sand appears on newly generated beaches and some new places are slightly hillier, but no massive world border like last time.
That's a shame, I liked having an official and obvious eyesore declaring "This is the end of 1.8, from here begins 1.9" kind of thing.

I meant if they make even more changes in future updates.
