So I was curius about how things where in the competetive scene, where I am not.

I looked up the ARCHAEOPTER STRATORAPTOR from Admech:

180 points for.

2X
Cognis heavy stubber
36" Assault 4 S4 AP0 D1

2X
Heavy phosphor blaster
36" Heavy 3 S6 AP-2 D1
Each time an attack is made with this weapon, the target does not receive the benefits of Dense Cover against that attack.

Twin cognis lascannon
48" Assault 2 S9 AP-3 D3+3

BS3+, T7, 10W
-1 to hit. -1 Damage
180 points.

I compare that to the SM Stormhawk Intersceptor at 185 points. The admech flyer is more tanky and more killy.

Dakkajets also come out quite strong at 6X 36" Dakka 6/4 S6 AP-1 D1 for 120 points. However, they are not as durable and have BS5+. But the dakkajet is ridiculesly offensive for it's powers, and the cost of a throw away unit.

Am I the only one who thinks some of them is the wrong cost?

After the last GT final, we can be quite sure that the Admech flyers are going to receive the full wrath of GW's nerf bat.

Most Marine vehicles (bar Contemptor and Redemptor Dreads) are a bit overcosted at the moment imo.

Custom40k Homebrew - Alternate activation, huge customisation, support for all models from 3rd to 10th edition

Designer's Note: Hardened Veterans can be represented by any Imperial Guard models, but we've really included them to allow players to practise their skills at making a really unique and individual unit. Because of this we won't be making models to represent many of the options allowed to a Veteran squad - it's up to you to convert the models. (Imperial Guard, 3rd Edition)

Agreed. I think it's a side effect of the "toning down" loyalists got in their 9th edition codex. Gw was very conservative in their pricing for loyalist vehicles, and it's had a knock on effect for other factions that use the same vehicles or derivatives of them (SoB tanks, for instance, are all based on the Rhino/Predator chassis). Death Guard Land Raiders and Predators are no better off than loyalist's Land Raiders and Predators, but PBCs are just fine. Dreadnoughts got a "pass", because gw seems to be pushing them for marine armies.

Most SM infantries/bikes are pretty undercosted though, which is part of the problem.

Some of their vehicles aren't really overcosted in a vacuum, they are compared to SM elite infantries who can accomplish the same job for cheaper. Or sometimes their services aren't really needed, see rhinos which are good for armies that can rely on them, but never see the table with current SM. Doesn't mean that the vehicle isn't a good unit and with an appropriate price.

That's not much help for other factions that use the same vehicles, with the same prices. Gw's insistence on pricing Land Raiders, Predators, etc the same for all armies that can use them without taking into context the differing rules and units for those armies is aggravating.

Actually we are seeing some change in that. Wolf Guard Jump Pack, Shield and Lightning Claw is 140. Regular Marines are 150. Wolf Guard SW lists have not been pushing the competetive scene, so it makes some sence.

So the general consensus is that Admek and Ork flyers are big to slightly undercosted?

I like the dakka jet in my lists, it does work, but it dies as soon as it gets shot. it has 12w and last 3 make it pretty useless with BS6+ at that point you are positioning it to crash and burn if possible (not possible against a good opponent)

Even at full BS5+ if you buy the 2 extra shootas you get 24 shots at 18+-36 inches, and 36 shots at 18" or less. Over 18" that means 8 hits, while 18" or less nets 12 hits. that is respectable for ork shooting but given the damage profile of the weapon i think its pretty fair.

weapon profile is str 6 ap-1 D1 o good chaff clearing and can chit paint of flight vehicles, but they are not disappearing whole squads.

Now if that were on a more durable platform i could see the issue, but T6 4+ armor and really only effective for 8 of its 12 wounds its pretty much a 1 turn and done unit unless you go full ork airforce.

I don't see a problem with the basic statline and cost of the flyer. Maybe it could cost 200 points but is still t7 10 wounds.

The problems are with the sinergyes and buffs and whatever. And the rest of the book

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I'd say the Ork flyer is alright for the points.
AdMech is too cheap and SM is too expensive.
