Hi folks,

I am a long time player, on and off since 2nd edition.

I have a large Eldar army and would like to revisit it. Can anyone help me out with a semi competitive list that includes the following:

1 Scorpion
1 Lynx
3 Hornets
7x Shadow Spectres (inc phoenix lord)
1x Wraith Seer

These are the models I'd like to include as they are my FW models. I have pretty much everything so would appreciate some suggestions as to what is good to run in 9th at 2000pts that I can play at my LGS.

Thanks

500 points on a scorpion is a lot to pour into one unit for a 2000 point game

Especially once you add another 400 points by the time you've added your lynx and wraithseer.

I would leave the scorpion at home for now personally - especially while you relearn the game.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you point me towards a FW centric Eldar 9th edition list?

The scorpion is a badass. I play with it and it’s just a killing machine. Keep a farseer moving along with it to cast guide or use the forewarned strategems and it will mulch anything in one turn. In five turns it basically deletes one unit off the table for each turn. You can use phantasm to redeploy it turn one out of line of sight of most enemy heavy weapons. Pay for spirit stones.

The shadow specters and wraithseer are also awesome. You won’t need the lynx if you’ve got the scorpio. I’ve found lynx just doesn’t do that much honestly. Wraithseers are amazing and their d cannon with expert crafters custom Craftworld trait let’s them hit and wound reliably. I’ve one shot killed a greater demon or powerful army leader with the wraithseer. It’s a beast in hand to hand and also has psychic powers

I’d consider a few wave serpents with large units of dire avengers for holding objectives. They’re very durable for their points.

Dark reapers can also fire and fade back into a wave serpent to keep themselves from being killed from return shooting.

Farseer and warlock on jetbikes for mobile psychic powers. Doom. Jinx. Guide. Fortune being your best ones. Also you can quicken melee units if needed. Wraithblades witb shields are the best for holding territory. Just play for objectives. And you’ll get a feel for what works for you. The scorpion is a lot of fun though. I would keep that.
