Hi All,

I’m stripping some older GW lead minis (assorted from 1st and 2nd edition 40k) and have picked up some LA’s totally awesome to do the job.

I’ve seen a few warnings about super clean potentially etching lead and was wondering whether anyone has had this issue with LA’s?

I work 24s and put them in today so they would potentially be in for 40 hrs or so if I leave them for my next shift and want to be comfortable with that. Otherwise I’ll take them out tonight (at 7 hrs or so), scrub them and then wash them with water and leave them until I can monitor them for a shorter soak.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Thanks.

I use LAs Totally Awesome for all my stripping. I have never had any problems with metals, plastics or resin, regardless of the length of time in the bath.

Sometimes metals will turn a darker color (oxidization?), but it doesn’t hurt the metal, and a tooth brush and soap to clean and prime makes them look good as new for painting.

Perfect! I’m planning some new units and thought it was finally time to strip and repaint some of my older ones. These haven’t had new paint for a long time and I want to get them nice and clean before starting but wanted to make sure that this wouldn’t hurt any fine detail.

Ended up doing most of them in that and then used acetone for a few stubborn ones at the end that wouldn't quite come clean...
