I've bought several necron units and it seems what I envisioned as a mere kill team will turn out to be a sizeable force.
Therefore, I'm rethinking my painting ideas and would love to paint them as a canon dinasty. But what should I go with? It needs to be something with canon paintschemes I can reference.
Are you a fan of the blood soaked Novokh? I dig the culture of sacrifices and way they introduced both white and red in the wings of their night scytes in the codex, in the shape of phalanx markings. But I'm a bit afraid of relying on close combat.
Maybe Sautekh? It's a classic for a reason, but I'm not attracted to subfactions that value "honor" over efficiency.
Mephrit? Thokh? I'm not attracted to blue or orange energy rods, I do like the classic green. Nephrekh lore sounds very cool, with the metagold allowing these very rich necrons to turn into energy orbs, but I fear this will not be a competitive advantage, and the paintschemes are a bit samey lacking accent colors unilike Mephrit, Novokh or, Nihilakh...
Maybe I should join the Silent King and go Szarekhan? There are plenty of examples to use as references for painting, but I fear these will be a bit too mainstream for my liking
Maybe Charnovokh with their blues? Tsarakura? What is your favourite, and why should I pledge my loyalty to your phaeron?
