Hello,

I was wondering if there was any lore or bits of info as to what exact Regiment are the Metal Cadian troops on the boxes supposed to be from and if there was any lore for them at that stage?

I am referring to the troops with black helmets, webbing, green uniforms and red coloured lasguns that were featured on the boxes and white-dwarf ads.

Any and all help is appreciated, thank you.

i dont have the white dwarfs, i have the codex and doesnt specify which cadians are in paint jobs, however concerning lore:

"the most powerful fighting formtions of the Cadian forces are called shock troopers. They are chosen from the fastest moving and hardest hitting [Cadians]. [As all Cadians must join the military], the best are quickly identified and inducted for further training. When Chaos raiders are detected the shock troops are sent to hunt them down [only asking for help if the raider' force is too well equiped or large]. Even Space Marines have found the Cadians to be impressive and powerful allies. [Cadians make excellent equipment, their large industry and its skilled labor force is reflected in theior war gear] which are made in uniforms and camp patterns suited for the mixed terrain of the Cadian wilderness.."

(I changed the working slightly because I don't know if forum rules allow for direct quote, but that is what the lore entry says in the codex. 'Chaos raiders' are referring to Chaos forces that often raid the Cadia system)

in the codex there is a picture explaining regimental organization of standard imperial guard, each regiment is divided into color coded companies (red/green/blue/yellow/black), each company having black/red/green platoons which are represented by a color coded circle. left half of the circle is colored company, right half platoon color . gun color seems to match platoon color.

edit: oh sorry misread your question, you probably already know what i shared.

They weren't any specific regiment, those were the colours of basically everyone cadian, at least for home duty.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

This is as close to being specific as I remember.

IIRC didnt they also "Illigally" modify their las guns to turn them into hotshot las guns.

To many unpainted models to count.
