So i want to play a FSE army with 6 tau commanders. If i had 3 patrols and choose 3 crisis and 3 coldstar, because these are seperate data sheets, would this be allowed?

The restriction is on the keyword not the datasheet, right? So no bueno.

Rule of Three (or Two or Four depending on your game size) is specific to datasheets, not keywords. Six Commanders spread across two different kinds of Commander is entirely legal assuming one has the correct detachments.

The restriction is the same datasheet cannot be used more than 3 times. However, in this case FSE is limited to two commanders per detachment.
CADRE COMMAND
You can include a maximum of one COMMANDER model in each Detachment in your army (excluding FARSIGHT ENCLAVES Detachments).
You can include a maximum of two COMMANDER models in each FARSIGHT ENCLAVES Detachment in your army.
So, 3 crisis and 3 coldstar in 3 detachments is legal.

Woot this means untill a FSE sup comes out to bring back the eight i can have the six instead. And just think of that nasty combo of an army killing group of untargetable commanders with the bodyguard suits.

Didn't the 8 include a Broadside and a Riptide?
You can totally run all 8.
