After the Lumineth heavy cavalry suckered me into impulse buying a force and making progress painting that, I bought the Teclis model.

I'm not happy with the weird "YAY, I'm this tall!"-Pose combined with the detached face and static floaty pose. The pose and expression in the artwork seems much better.
Given that I'm not a scuplter, I just want to adapt it a bit. I like some of the conversions I've seen, which usually reposition the arms and ditch the cape.
While I'm with Edna Moe's "NO CAPES!" sentiment in general, I want to keep the cape since it will look great with painted gradients.

This is what I have so far, with the arms blu-tac-ed in:

I used a hot air gun at ~180 degrees celsius to make the cape pliable and moved it over to the tips of the shoulder-pads.
That worked better than expected, but does necessitate that I clean up an open seam and an ugly spot on the right side.
The arms are cut with a razor saw diagonally to leave the contact points for the cape in the back.

The sword arm should be in a low guard pose, with the staff held more casually. I want the arm position to be reasonably anatomically plausible.

For his samurai inspired helmet, I am considering ditching the huge half-moon and crest and substituing a smaller alternatives.

As anchor point, I'm considering a column or obelisc instead of the wing, similar to the Seasons of War conversion.

What do you think? What would you change?
